The sarcasm And truth went hand in hand.
She was perfect in every situation. Sad happy mad snarky pissy loving bold daring scared... you name it she had it nailed
Absolutely wonderful listen....
3,495 hours listened in 2012! I used to be a voracious reader, then my job had me driving about 1k miles a week. I started listening to Audible and have never stopped. I quit work and now just listen all the time, cleaning house, shopping, driving, in the hot tub. I even put one earbud in and let Audible read me to sleep every night.
Hilarious revenge fiction
I can see this happening in the small town I grew up in. Absolutely possible and hilarious. I listen while I'm going to sleep, this book kept me snickering in the dark. I kept waking my husband up laughing and when I explained what the book was about..he didn't think it was funny. Makes it even funnier.
Amanda's snarky voice hits all the right notes for punch lines in this story.
The author! She has to be the funniest person alive.
Would make a great made for tv movie.
This was an easy read (listen) that made me laugh out loud. It was entertaining and enjoyable and would recommend it
I love Molly Harper books, especially on audio, but this one was not my favorite. Although, the narration was wonderful as it always with her books, the story was a bit stressful to me. It did have the same sassy female lead character, and fun male "hero", but I didn't find myself laughing out loud as I usually do with Molly Harper books. That being said, I am glad that I read it, and will keep coming back for more Molly Harper.
I love all the voices she uses for each character
I laughed a lot!
I'm not sure but I do know that the audio version is everything I could want to listen to. The story itself if funny and the Narr takes it to the next level of extreme laughter.
The email.. That had to be the funniest thing.
All of them. I just love to listen to Amanda Ronconi's voice.
Lacey. I bet she would be a hoot to listen to her ramble.
I can't wait for more books from this author. I own most in book form but after getting one audible on sale, that was it and I now own all of her audibles.
Yes, it was a fun, easy read.
Her brother he was hillarious.
This was my first
I laughed a few times
Overall I did like the book. While there were several few funny moments or lines, I don't know that any of them were quite as funny as I anticipated after reading the reviews by others. Also, I think the Publisher is a little misleading on what the story focuses on. I would consider it a funny book about a woman figuing out what she wants to do after finding out her husband cheated on her and she filed for divorce. It ends up being a good, believable story but I think the publisher's summary is slightly misleading. It takes a very long time to get through the "introduction" to finally end up where the Publisher says we are headed for the main part of the story. As long as you don't focus too much on the summary and looking for humor, you will very much enjoy this book.
Another five shining bright stars for Molly Harper, who can entertain, humor, tell a wickedly delicious story, and actually have real depth with her plots. If you haven't gotten on the Harper bandwagon yet, my only question is: WHY NOT?
And One Last Thing . . . had me in stitches, nearly crying, and nodding my head at how spot on this story is. After being in love with Harper's paranormal books, this was a different change of pace. However, Harper keeps up the witty remarks, fun characters, and over-all sense of feeling as if everything is happening to you. Only if I was that funny. I think what really made me love this book in particular was the fact I'd gone through a divorce myself, and if I had it to do all over again, I would have sent out a hilarious and not-the-least-bit contrite newsletter to all our friends/family.
As far as the narration, Amanda Ronconi is quickly becoming one of my favorite narrators. It's Ronconi's voice and characterization that gives all of Harper's books that little extra bump. She has such a finesse with brining books alive that I don't know if reading Harper's books will ever be the same without Ronconi's voice.
Keep on writing, Molly, for I am forever your loyal book-reading servant. Same goes for Amanda, because I'll buy just about any book she narrates!
I love Molly Harper and Amanda Ronconi. I have bought ever single one of her books and Ronconi always makes her stories entertaining. The lead character is sassy and with all the stuff that keeps happening to her, well, it makes your problems just seem so much smaller.
The other thing I love about Harper is that her leads have flaws. They aren't perfect, they develop throughout the story, and they learn from their mistakes. They are also independent strong women that know when to just give into guilty pleasures.
This book is different than Harper's usual fantasy books but her style and flare is still all there. Fans of Harper and Ronconi will NOT be disappointed. I loved this book. This book was heart warming and you really get beind the lead character. The lead character is just hilarious. I love how she takes a bad situation and turns it around. She develops inner strength to stand up for her self and show respect to herself. Fantastic books and great performance.
