Light, fun, cute. Also slightly dark. Of course it's dark though. The book is about betrayal. I found myself completely on the side of the heroine. I want her to do things she doesn't end up doing.
The main character. She's well written.
Hmm. Performance wise I'd say Amanda was great and then lost me with her "old man voice" and then her "gay man voice" they were both grating in the nerves. The gay voice even more so. She breaks into this stereotypical fancy-boy accent which doesn't match her voice for the sister. If the two are siblings, why does the brother talk like he's from planet gay?
I did not laugh, nor did I cry.
I'd say about two thirds through, the main character goes off on her own and the story wanders into strange territory. It goes off track somehow. Comes back just fine.. although I was highly disappointed that the wife did not confront the mistress in the scene where she had a chance. Walking away may be the high road but it makes for a BORING scene. Come on.. give us a tiny bit of drama. Any woman who's been cheated on would probably agree.. you want the fantasy scene where the mistress gets her comeuppance.
For as much as I read and listen you would think by now that I would know how to spell lol. I read at least 5 books a week there are times I have gotten up to 10 in a week.
Who would of ever thought a book based on divorce I would get so much enjoyment out of. I have never laughed so hard in my life. I have to agree with all the reviews that made me check out a new arthor for me. I am so so happy that I did and will be putting Molly Harper on my auto buy. There is nothing I could say that other reviews havent said, You REALLY DO NOT want to miss this book!
I don't normally write reviews and One Last Thing isn't my usual genre, but I was more than pleasantly surprised! Cleverly written, funny and just the right amount of sexy. The lead character is strong despite a few flaws. I can't count the times I laughed out loud (while listening at work and getting a few weird looks from everyone in my office) and thought, "Hell yeah!"
The email that started Lacey's adventure had me practically in tears I was laughing so hard!
Great listen and I will be listening to more Molly Harper!
It's all memorable! From someone who was in a similiar situation....I only wish I had had the wit, wisdom and suport that Lacy had. It's funny becuase it's true.
Just enough edge to her voice to make her brilliant and enough softness to make the listener think that she has been through this herself.
The audio version brought it to life.
I tried to listen to it from begining to end. Only the threat of divorce ("put that thing down or ELSE!") interrupted my listening pleasure. Loved it.
Demolition D'bree of the Red Bank Roller Vixens
This short yet sweet story ranks high in my collection, mostly because the narrator brings the story to life.
This story wouldn't be the same without the narrator. Sure the story is great, but seriously...Amanda Ronconi just gets it.
This story makes me laugh.
I just love books. I would rather read then do just about anything else.
Funny, Quirky, enjoyable
The female lead is a lot like the other female leads in Molly's books. They are real and strong women with a strange sense of humor.
She does a great job with the narration.
I have to listen when I can and actually relistened to it immediately.
Every book I have listened to or read by Molly Harper so far has been very enjoyable. I will keep buying her books. I haven't been disappointed yet.
Yes - it was a funny and well-written book.
Something Borrowed, Something Blue
She was a great narrator. I loved her accent and the way she made the characters come to life.
I would recommend this to anyone who wants to lose themselves in a good and funny story.
I enjoyed this book. It wasn't life altering. Yet, it was a fun escape from reality.
Ms. Harper allows her readers a look into one woman's betrayal and how she handles this injustice. I laughed aloud several times while listening to it. One can't help but pull someone who has been wronged. I would suggest this book to almost anyone. It was simply a fun and relaxing listen.
This book is hilarious! I was actually laughing out loud in the car, driving! I love the antics, funny phrases and dynamics of the characters. For any female that has gone through a divorce, you will totally relate.
The newsletter and how Lacey comes to polite grips of her emotions.
