I thought the voice of the narrator was perfect for this book. Amanda has kind of a throaty, rasp in her voice that was really just spot on for the story.
Not at first. Actually, this book really made me angry at the author in the beginning and the only reason I kept listening, was because I was in the middle of painting my hallway and didn't want to stop and fiddle with my iPad. The main character was so stereotypically weak and broken, I wanted to smack her. True, I've never been through a marriage, let alone a divorce, so it's hard for me to relate, but it was sickening. I think the author does this to really set you up for the growth in the rest of the book.
I really like this duo-Molly Harper and Amanda Ronconi....I'd like to listen to more by them, but the last time I looked, everything else she Molly has on here has to do with Warewolves and I'm kinda over that right now....maybe later.
I laughed out loud, couldn't put it down. Promoted female comraderie
Mason of course
The last one
I am a lifelong reader and I enjoy many types of books. My favorites are romance, historical fiction, and a little sci-fi thrown in.
Funny, real, and fun.
Lacey...she is such a real person.
Again, Lacey. She gave her a fantastic voice.
A five star rating is a rare occurrence from me, as is a one star rating. I primarily listen to sci-fi though I will branch out occasionally. Political satire/comedy and I did manage to laugh my way through that whole E.L. James series... you know the one...
I started with Molly Harper's Naked Werewolf books, and I think I have her to blame for my decent into the Paranormal Romance novels that as a guy I should probably be embarrassed to admit to enjoying. However, she has a certain style and wit that appeals to me. This is my first foray outside her Paranormal series and I have to admit to liking it as well. Despite the lack of fangs, spells, or strange diets I really seem to enjoy Molly's work. I recommend this and any other book by the author. The narrator is just about perfect for the roll. Don't be concerned about the 4 star rating, I round down and its really more like a 4.75 star, and I get tougher on the author the more I enjoy the book,
I loved the story...over coming a bad situation but with humor and sarcasm.
There were lots of scenes in this book that were great but the one that was the funniest to me was chasing down her neighbor forgetting she didn't have any clothes on.
What a great narrator. You could hear the emotion in the book from her voice. I would listen to other books simply because they were narrated by Amanda Ronconi.
I have a real crazy in love relationship with books!!!
Ummm.....I don't know, probably not, though I rarely re-listen to books. However, there were parts of the book that just drug out too long and I found myself annoyed lol.
I love Molly Harper's work and this one is no different. She is absolutely hilarious.
Her personality and sarcasm is hilarious. She just works.
I did both, though there were mostly laughs.
This was a good book and I would definitely recommend it. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars is because I found myself super annoyed with the husband & wife's attitude towards the main character. I just felt like it was allowed to go on wayyyy to long....and I found myself wanting to tell them off lol.
Ok, now that was funny, On point!!!! I laughed out loud. Anyone could relate to this whether they have recovered (or still in recovery) from a divorce or just a bad relationship in general. LOVED!
I was so glad I got this book. The story itself wasn't the best part even though it was a fun and entertaining story.. It was the hysterical banter and wit that all the characters traded with each other. And even through the most romantic or heartwarming moments you knew there was going to be something coming up shortly that would make you laugh out loud. I just wish I could use that kind of wit when dealing with my own romantic situations! Too fun! I am really looking forward to the next book written by Molly Harper.
Couldn't say, never red the print vr
Just a fun, no brainer story to listen to while driving to work
Personality to the character
Monroe...does it need explaining?!! LOL
Her main character had some glimpses of having a backbone. She was starting to become her own person after having been a doormat all her life. She never financially supported herself though. Everything she ever had was given to her even though she was intelligent and could easily have been more self supporting. Her father was an emotionally unsupportive, self absorbed ass.
This was my first. I might give her another try. I prefer strong main characters who fight the good fight, instead of weak people who are handed everything, then thrust out on their own.
The girl who wanted to start the website was good except for being too angry. The main male character was ok.
No, I'm already a strong self supportive person.
I really wanted to like this book. There are parts of it I liked a lot. The main character started to become a strong person, but then just fell back into the same patterns she started with. She is like the women at the country club that I don't like because they are just window dressing.
