This is the best of Dave book I've read yet. The complexity and enormous emotions that came with this story blows my mind. It takes more than a brilliant mind to write a story with the level of complexity and yet keep the reader at the edge of their seats. And for Ron, you brought the story to life like no one else can do. Thank you.
Parts were a bit predictable compared to his other books. The twists were in where was it going next vs who was behind it. That, coupled with the length didn't keep me quite as engaged. The little twist at the end was a surprise though and a nice way to wrap.
It's hard to understand why so many folks seem to struggle with multiple readers doing voices for the audiobooks. This book was a very enjoyable listen! Story was very compelling, and I always love how Baldacci works in new characters to explore dynamics between 'old' Camel Club Members, Stone, & new folks. Baldacci fans need to relax & allow him to entertain them.
I love Baldacci's books and do enjoy Oliver but this was a bit sad. Oliver Stone has had so much gusto but seems almost needy in this one. I'd listen again but think I'd still feel sorry for John Carr.
Great plot twists and characters. I love the Camel Club.
The second funeral.
Awaiting a follow-up.

Baldacci, who usually writes great books, wrote a book this time that wanders endlessly and should have ended 50 chapters before it did. I was disappointed with what we in the military call the lack of the 7 P's: Proper Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance. The narration, however, was excellent.
I am a veteran, so I understand the dedication to an institution that is corrupt and I understand the pride in your government. This book has all of that as well as the twists. Good storyline!!
It was extremely over-contrived. Baldacci kept trying to throw in twist after twist. Oliver Stone continually made deductions and arrived at conclusions that would be a HUGE stretch. In addition, the dialogue was often cheesy.
The more I listen to him, the more I doubt it.
McLarty was fine, but not as strong as in some of the series' other books. Cassidy was horrible at the accents she was trying to pull off. The British accent was okay, but her U.S. southern accent was very distracting. Even when trying to voice a charactier with no accent at all, it seem like she struggled.
Not so much. I was ready for it to be over while it still had hours left...and that's rare for me.
yes could not stop once started
oliver as always
yes and they are awesome
not at first but later could not stop
I have never written a review but this one is worthy of the time vested in doing this review
