Yes I talked out loud to the book like a crazy person.
How I wish the people in the book could hear me.
This is a fun series, and I really love the heronie Kat - she is half human, half vampire. She is a strong female; she is out to kick evil vampire ass, and you just love her. She finds a great love interest in a very hot, sexy vampire named Bones. This is the first book in a series, and I can't wait to listen to the next book. This book was light, fun and interesting. The narrator, Tavia Gilbert is really good, even though I wish Bones' accent was not quite so low-class English. I think it takes a bit away from Bones' sexy character, but otherwise, the narrator has great timing and delivery, and she really makes the characters come alive!
Tavia Gilbert is one of the best Narrators I have listened to! She makes the main characters of Cat and Bones sound like two entirely different people a male and female did their very unique sounding voices. She does so many different female voices with distinct vocal personalities that do not change throughout the audiobook. And her male voices are unbelievable! They sound deep and not at all feminine! Dare I say her male vampire voices are sexy! Last she is a master at accents and does so many different one in this series you will never be bored!
The narration and the story.
The first time Cat and Bones make love in the cave. All the sexual tension between Cat and Bones.
ACTION PACKED, KICK ASS, VAMPIRE LOVE STORY!
Overall this was just a great story on its own and a great narrator who just took it to the next level and beyond!
Someone had posted that it reminded them of Spike from Buffy and I totally agree. The narrator was ok. The story line was interesting.
I was given the first book of this series as a gift and found it truly funny and entertaining. I found myself purchasing and downloading the rest of the series almost immediately so I could listen to them back to back at work. The narrator was one of the major selling factors with this series. She was great to listen to and very engaged with the story. I loved that even though there were so many characters in the books, the changes in her vocal range was significant enough that they all had their own identifiable sound when she read.
Really liked the humor. It made me laugh. Narrator did great job reading.
I really will get more books in this series.
And what a reunion it is!!! This is an awesome series and I love them all (I am on my second time around!) and the narrator is awesome! She really brings all the characters to life each of them!!! This is just a good all around listen!!!
I've enjoyed the entire series. The narrator moves along (I hate slow or lots of pauses) and is easy to listen to. The romance is steamy with a consistent undercurrent. I especially enjoy the development of the relationship and this one doesn't disappoint. Add to that a strong lead female character, charming leading man & lots of fast paced intrigue & adventure, and this whole series is a very fun ride!! I highly recommend it!!
This book has great balance. Great story...great narrator...great finish...Listners beware... The series is very addictive....I am looking forward to the next installment...
Each character bring such a wonderful flavor to the story line. If I had to pick just one character then it would be Bones. He is responsible for the growth and devolpment of the lead character.
She brought the characters to life. I am not sure if the series would be as successful without her voice.
There were many instances that I laughed out loud...I typically listen to a book while commuting to and from work. I found the series so entertaining until I completed the book in one listening session. My work suffered from my inability to push the pause botton.
I found this series by happenstance. I am thanking my audible angels for sending me the suggestion....
Reading is a must-have ESCAPE...
Tavia Gilbert maintains the characters so well. She is truly an outstanding narrator. Ironically, her interpretations of the characters and reading may actually be better than the first book if that's even possible.
Cat finally catches up with her father and ultimately begins to identify herself more with her vampire-side than her humanity.
No doubt Tavia's skill is like a fine wine... as one listens through this series, she improves with each edition of the story.
The blindfolding scene was certainly notable for those of us who enjoy the romance between Cat & Bones. However, the notion that Bones has the skill to fly seems to be a bit over the top at first. But, the skill is integrated throughout the remaining books in the series so the reader gets used to it.
The story seems a little slow to start, but many of the new characters are introduced in the first 5-6 chapters and play pivotal parts later on. I was still left thinking that maybe a bit of the first 8-9 chapters could've been eliminated. That said, those of us who loved "Halfway" will equally enjoy "One Foot..."
