This book had a lot of potential but it fizzled. There was too much dialogue. There was no relationship. I read a lot of Julie James books, and I'm very disappointed in this one. I think they kissed once. Why have that Scott character. He did not fit and he took precious time from the two main characters developing there relationship.
Love listening to books to help me escape!
Professional, Funny, Addicting
None I have read yet, but can't wait to read more of her books
When Taylor was trying to hide from the cameras and allowed Jason to face them while she went to her office.
I have been looking for a book that shown women in a professional powerful light. This book gives all that and more. It still holds to the romance and drama that a movie would without having to be X-rated. Some of these book I felt like blushing but with this book I felt "I wish this was a movie".
Taylor is a professional lawyer who finds herself in a not so comment situation but then again anything can happen in Cali. And that is what you felt. Like this is something that could really happen only in California. The games that were played and how she was nothing like what Jason thought she would be, was what really good. Can't say enough good stuff and I am getting every book she writes.
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BOOK and AUTHOR!
I was disappointed at how the story dragged on. I read the reviews before listening and was excited to listen. I felt the story dragged on and on. I like humor in my books and this was supposed to have a lot of humor. But I found it had little humor.
This story wasn't interesting. I skipped around and was bored. It wasn't terrible but nothing to write home about either.
Mom. Wife. Photographer. Lover of all things supernatural. Slightly obsessed with Sweet Valley High and great white sharks.
There was no need for graphic sex in this book. They didn't fall madly in love within a minute of meeting each other. It was a good old fashioned romance with a build up to it. The characters were likeable, and the story wasn't heavy handed. It was a fun and easy beach read!
My only complaint would be that sometimes the narrator seemed a little breathy.
This standalone novel is not as good Julie James FBI series but it's likeable. It's good listen if you're on a road trip and need something light.
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend because it was well written, funny, heart warming and I couldn't put the book down.
The female lead was strong, independent but still not a total b*
I really think this book would make a great romantic comedy. Seriously one of the better books I've read in awhile.
This book was just ok for me. My favorite chick lit novelists are Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Jennifer Crusie, and Sophie Kinsella, all much better authors and more adept a writing funny contemporary romance novels. This is the authors’ first book, so she may grow into a better author and I may give her another shot down the road. The big problem I had with the book was it was too verbose. I love reading background tidbits about the characters, if it gives me a peek into their true self or helps me understand why they act a certain way. Much of the writing in this book was just frivolous filler. You knew who the characters were after the first couple of chapters, with an additional peek into their psyche scattered here and there; much of the in between was just blather that could have been taken out. I did like the characters and I was glad they got their HOA, but I will not remember them after a few weeks and I will never want to listen to this book again. The narrator did a decent job. I guess where this book is concerned I am ambivalent.
