The setting! There are a few writers that I come upon that I really like their work and want to read more but when they are all set in little one horse towns where everyone knows one another; it loses variety and then starts to become stale with a lot to be desired. And with a murder in each one they would be the murder capital of the US.
Yes but I seriously doubt if I will ever pay for another one. The small town setting is not a draw for me.
Heck No, BORING!
I enjoy a 'lite' read on ocassion and this series is a cute and entertaining listen
This was one of my favorites in ther series
This was the first Denise Swanson I have read, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable read. The characters were well developed and realistic. The plot is entertaining and easy to follow. Despite the fact that it is a murder mystery, it is light hearted and fun. I will read more of this series.
If you enjoy Carolyn Hart's death on demand series, or Monica Ferris you will enjoy Denise Swanson.
I have nothing to compare Christine Leto's performance as I have not listened to her before.
LIfe-long reader, fond of mysteries, scifi, fantasy. Prefer good story-tellers, with interesting premises. Road warrior-so listen a lot!
I bought this because the premise was cute - I enjoyed hearing about the nuts and bolts of putting together big events and going along with the challenge of leaping into the middle of executing a major event combined with solving a murder was irresistible. I like the characters (I got the sequel, the continuing story line is interesting, too), the author put together a good story and didn't telegraph the villain. The Bridezilla wasn't too over the top, and the denouement was hilarious. It was well read, with a pleasant voice and good character definition.
