One of the more simplistic, predictable, and tedious novels I have ever listened to. It put me to sleep on more than one occasion - in the middle of day !
Not worthy of the Reacher franchise.
One of the best ever Jack Reacher novels. I was captured from the start to finish of the novel. In someways Reacher reminds me of Sherlock Holmes in his anticipation of the characters actions.
Wow...I sat on the edge of my seat throughout the entire reading. This story will capture you within the first five minutes and keep you tune in until the very last sentence. The narrater was excellent, the storyline was excellent, the plot was excellent. This is a must read! Enjoyed it!

I am a Reacher Creature. As with all of this series in less than ten minutes I am drawn into the book. Lee Child has the perfect formula for keeping you interested. You get to run down enough rabbit holes to feel you are privy to inside information on Jack Reacher, and he is confiding in you as the story develops. Dick Hill has the perfect voice for the story. He changes tones in his voice for the different characters, and never allows you to become confused as to which character is speaking. You will enjoy this selection.
I've enjoyed all of Jack Reacher's previous escapades. This title represents a shocking decline in the quality of story line, character development, plot and plausibility. Beyond that, Jack Reacher is bordering on homicidal mania. His challengers in the past displayed cunning, and proved worthy opponents for his incisive reasoning. Now, he just shoots them, and it's over. The setting is fabricated to the point of unbelievability. I wouldn't give up on the series because of this bad apple, but I don't recommend this one.
Daily commuter relying on Audible to keep awake. I need excitement! If something crazy doesn't happen in the first 20 mins I'm done!
The story was very exciting and fast paced, however the plot was weird. Usually, Jack Reacher has a good reason to be where he is and doing whatever he is doing. But in this story, he is mysteriously dropped into a small town on his way to somewhere else. Then he accidentally gets involved in the towns struggle against a controlling family that has been bringing them down and also was suspected of the kidnap of a small girl 25 years in the past. I really enjoyed it and would have given it 4-5 stars if a believable reason would have come out somewhere about why he happened to be there and get so involved. In addition, how is this town going to explain all the dead bodies he left? I'm sorry, but I was disappointed.
Unless you're into Steven Segal movies, skip this lame excuse for a story. The plot is threadbare-thin and the character development is non-existent. Why this series has any followers at all escapes me. I only finished the book because I hate wasting money; in retrospect, I wish I hadn't wasted my time.
To sum this book up in one word - BORING! This is the second worst Reacher novel, after Nothing to Lose. This novel plows the same ground as the last novel and was obviously a quick rip-off to get more bucks for Child. The huge casts of characters becomes confusing when listening to the novel rather than reading and I couldn't keep them all straight. And the big problem was that I didn't really care about any of them. I kept falling asleep listening to this drivel. None of the characters were interesting and Reacher seemed to be recovering from his last brush with death. I'm really getting disappointed in the formulaic novel writers, such as Child, Koontz, etc., whose wells seem to have run dry.
I have read all the Jack Reacher books. Some I like more than others. I know some people complain about to much action or not enough and things that seem impossible. But it is FICTION. So even when things seem impossible, I just read and enjoy. I did think to myself while reading the book, did Jack turn in to a serial killer. I love the fantasy. Jack is tough and always tries to right the wrongs. I wanted to know more about how he lived through the the blow up in 61 hours and I was a little let down. I missed the "I said Nothing" from Jack Reacher. I really liked the book. I really would like to give it a half star more rating. The plot and characters where good. Jack does what he has to do and I look forward to more Reacher books.
I was skeptical because of how quickly this book came out. But it was really quite solid. I got more invested in the non Reacher characters than I have in several books. It's a solid outing!
