Misunderstanding of what Nebraska is all about. Poor depiction of people and geography.
Burning down the Duncan's homes.
Western Nebraska does not have lots of corn fields. It is largely not flat outside of the Platte river valley and the nature of the people is not to put up with the behavior described. Some of the local gun nuts would have shot the Duncans a long time before Reacher came along.
In Tom's opinion
the narrator is awesome. the story lines compelling and it keeps you coming back to read more.
While I was a little disappointed that Reacher didn't get to Virginia in this book, it was a good one. As always Dick Hill did a great job of bringing the story to life. Plenty of action, and Reachers typical manner of taking care of the bad guys. Mr. Child has a way of making me always root for the underdogs, and this book was no exception. I still love Reacher, even if he did finally get his nose broken.
another good novel had me guessing about the cargo till 2/3 ways thru, didn't think he was going to make it once (Not) Forget Superman, not Ironman, Not Spiderman,,,,,, I'll take Jack Reacher!
I've listened to all the books in the series so far and this is in the top two or three. No conflicts for Reacher and his actions. He does things we all think we would do if we were in his situation. One of the things I don't like about the previous books is the sex. While it isn't much it is completely not needed. Very refreshing to go through a book with no sex at all. Just violence born from anger
