O Day of days when we can read! The reader and the book, either without the other is naught. Ralph Waldo Emerson. I Love to read, a great time for me is curling up with a great book!!!
J.R. has delivered another good one. Can't wait to read the rest of the series
What else can I say except..."It's J.R. Ward!!!" Those of us who love the BDB will love this as well. I was WELL pleased with the new series.
I like Jack Reacher style characters regardless of setting. Put them in outer space, in modern America, in a military setting, on an alien planet... no worries. Book has non moralistic vigilante-justice? Sign me up! (oh, I read urban fantasy, soft and hard sci-fi, trashy vampire and zombie novels too)
It is about the same quality as Covet. It is not bad - but certainly is not the Black Dagger Brotherhood stories, not even close (and if you haven't read them, go get them now, all of them.)
There is some sex, but it's kind of short and has little tension/build-up and is more ho-hum than thrilling.
The story is wrapped up independently, but the characters are the same and there is little recapping so you probably should read them in order. The narrator seems to distinguish the male characters better in this book than he did in Covet.
I'm not sure if I'll read the next in the series or not - it's so close to bordering on average that the price of the audiobook when it comes out will probably be the deciding factor, more so than the story itself.
Looking for similar stories? Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress books are similar. Moning's Fever series is good too, but involves dark fairies instead of vampires.
Crave was SO GOOD! I love every character in this series so far, even Davina with her crazy evil self! I thought nothing would compare to the BDB, but, the Fallen Angels series is in a league of phenomenal all on its own. Moral lines are seriously blurred in Crave, when sexy bad boy Isaac and the good lawyer Greer cross paths. Another epic battle between good and evil ensues, and even more interesting things are revealed about this cast of angels and demons, that makes you CRAVE more!
I found myself rewinding 30 seconds a few times throughout this story, because I literally didn't want to miss one thing--it's that good. Get it, don't even think twice, it's a credit well spent.
The author allows the male characters to speak in this annoying way with slang used every other word. Instead of sounding tough, they usually sound like a bunch of posing teenagers. She also doesn't seem to care much for women which is weird being that she is one. The female characters with few exceptions seem weak or just props for the men to screw. I can't remember the last time I heard the word "bitch" so many times. Wait, it was probably in the first book Covet.
I did not care about what happened. I didn't care about the couple (mostly because I hated the way the female lead was written), and I did not care whether soul #2 was saved or not. That can't be a good sign.
The narrator was fine.
Wow, that's just too hard. The cutting room floor would be littered.
I really want to continue this series because I like the premise, and the main character Jim, but the author's style of writing may be too much for me to move past it. I know this author has legions of fans from the Brotherhood series, but unfortunately I just don't get it.
I'm an audio book junky! And an avid reader! I love books mostly paranormal fantasy romance, and books that are hot and steamy and fun
Yes, it is an amazing listen! It's like a warm blanket in front of the fire in the middle of winter amazing!
I loved all the characters even the ones I loved to hate! They all have something that make this book and series what it is supposed to be, without them it wouldn't be what it is!
He brings the characters to life in a way that I have never experienced before!
Sinning has never looked so good, redemption has never been so sexy!
Can't wait to finish this series, yet never want it to end!
I'm one of the reviewers at the Guilty Indulgence Review Site. I am always reading - I don't go anywhere without an ebook or audiobook!
Anyone who loves JR Ward's BDB series will also fall for these angels. I think this one might be even better than the first.
J.R. Ward's Fallen Angels series is very good. I expected it to be funnier after reading The Blackdagger Brotherhood, where the angel is hilarious.
I'm so hooked on Audible.
I would highly recomend this audio. I'm lovin Jim Heron and his side kicks.
I loved Danial the ghost.
Eric Dove gets better with every book.
I love listening to this book while I'm working. I could almost finish the whole book in one day. The book definately held my attention.
