The story is excellent
The usual gentle McIntyre humour.
Michael seems to have recorded this at his home office using a desk mike without a professional sound studio. The sound volume annoyingly fades in and out as Michael seems to change distance from the mike.
A fabulous funny and honest story of Micheal's life and made personal by his own narration.
When he was at the limit of financial disaster and his luck turned with the Royal Variety Performance.
Anyone would like this bio, particularly those who have seen Michael McIntyre shows.
I found this audiobook to be tremediously entertaining. Firstly, Micheal himself is reading, simply adding to the comedy value from the book. He tells stories as if he's on stage performing to a crowd.
Although being sad, around Chapters 15 - 22, while Micheal's becoming more and more in debt and his struggles to pay everything gets more and more demanding. He adds a funny touch to this stressfull situation.
Having Michael himself read the book makes it all the better and just makes the stories from his life even funnier. Very enjoyable.
Like listening to awesome stand up comedy. Seriously interesting story.
His descriptions of early days
You'll laugh until you cry
A great book written and read by a supremely talented and genuinely funny man.
Yes this is extremely funny in places, it's Michael McIntyre, that comes with the territory. It is also an inspiring story of a man who literally worked his way to the top. I couldn't put it down...no wait that's not it.... but I did take the very long way home and became the worlds most courteous driver, to hear the end of this audio book. It was beautifully told by the man himself. It was an emotional journey which I truely enjoyed!
This was in some ways better than his DVD's as this is not a performance but a window into the humour of the man himslef.
good clean fun :)

Story behind the laughs
wish there could have been more stuff... more of the exagerated stuff by mike
This is a great biography from a wonderfully funny man. There were points during this book where I was crying with laughter. Remember that it is a biography and not a comedy performance. A wonderful insight into his life so far.
This is thus far, the best audio book that I have listened to. Full stop.
Having Michael tell you his story makes you feel like you're making a lifelong friend as you experience his journey with him. The sad parts are crushing, the funny parts, uproariously hilarious. During those, and everywhere in between, you get a genuine feel for the man behind the story and how the people and events of his life have shaped him.
The opportunity afforded to the writer in narrating his own story is gloriously exploited with countless off-script ad-libs which enhance the experience immeasurably.
A genuine, unpretentious, modest and thoroughly entertaining insight into a national treasure of Britain. Bravo!
