While i enjoy all of the In Death books and hope to have them all as audio books i would not have purchased this one if i had read it first. Not that by itself it is not a good book, it is just to much like an earlier book in the series. Been there, read it & listened to it already.
What I don't like about this series is it is so addictive! This book was good except it started slow. It picked up about a quarter of the way through and turned out to be really good. But for the books that are not as good, I still want to listen because of the character development. Each book has its own story, but each one builds on the characters so now I have a vested interest. I highly recommend.
Really enjoyed the team work of Roarke and Eve. Has some similarities to other stories but shows the innate cruelty of people with much more money than conscience and utter disdain of people and fellow human beings. Excellent ending. Really enjoying the development of Eve and Roarkes marriage and team work.
Not for me. The story wasn't interesting. I fell a sleep on it a lot. I tried to listen to this series after reading those positive reviews. I really wanted to like it, because of Nora Roberts, but just couldn't.
This storyline is fabulous I just wish that Eve was not so rude, I know her character is a strong formidable woman but the way she is portrayed is a little over the top. The way in which she speaks to some people is annoying. Overall though I just love the books very well written with lots of twists. I love all the characters- thank you- Sharyn Campbell
I could not stand the narrator whining while seeming to be trying to talk tough cop talk. It was overdone and did not come off. She seemed like a griping teen age girl. I gave up fairly quickly.
I love the humorous banter between Dallas and Peabody, Rourke, or Summerset.
I have tried to compare the "In Death" series to the "Women's Murder Club" series by Patterson and Paetro. Similar backdrop - super successful, female cop in a big city. But "Women's Murder Club" just cannot hold a candle to Dallas and her team. The drama, passion, and humor is just not there with Patterson and Paetro.
I have listened to all of the "In Death" series and Ericksen is ALWAYS on her game. She is by far the best narrator that I have ever heard for this genre.
All of the "In Death" series books make me laugh out loud.
