The plot and the narration
George Guidall brings the story to life. Unlike many other narrators, he delivers the story so smoothly, so convincingly, so seamlessly, that the listener doesn't hear George (other narrators can be heard breathing, trying too hard), they hear the story. George is a natural. Best narrator I've ever heard. I only search for books he narrates now.
If you like action and thrillers, you can't beat this.
strong story line. Very realistic. painting pictures with words.
yes. Praise for George Guidall. Enjoyed his performance
amazing, characters solid
Faultless performance. Characters consistant throughout the book. Spot on the money. No holes barred escapism
Cant wait to obtain all the Mitch Rapp series
Pretty well. kind of wondered how they were going to get injured or killed.
I like reading so this was so I could get some work done. His voice characterization was very good.
I have read all of Vince Flynn's books and this one was okay. After knowing all all of Rapp's history, it was hard to go back to the beginning and keep my interest. I will still keep listening to Rapp books and hopefully the next one will be more interesting.
Am Assassin is the atop my all-time list of best audio books ever produced. Very few books deserve 5 stars in every category, this one certainly does.
Stan Hurley, Mitch's mentor, being interrogated and tortured is perhaps the most memorable scenes I've ever read. His encounter with torture portrays how every man hopes he himself would be able to respond.
George Guidall Is Mitch Rapp... I can't imagine Mitch's voice being any different that that of George.
CIA's Mitch Rapp, responsible for terrorizing the terrorists. Fighting terrorism with a new strategy - making terrorists terrified.
Although not the the first book in the series, this book would be a very good starting point to begin reading Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp series of books. The story begins at Mitch's induction and training for his career as a spy and assassin.
No. Did not like the narrator, and for me, this can make or break an audio. Sorry.....
I did not.
I would hope that the author would choose another narrator for his audio books.
I always enjoy when the author goes back to the beginning and let you see how it all started. It gives you so much insight on the lead character and it helps when the author makes that read as exciting as this one.
Love the early years of Mitch! Great read and great narrator. I was very hesitant at first and thought this would be fluff, but Flynn did not disappoint with this great book. You can truly see the neofite that Mitch was and can better understand why he became the man he is. Can't wait for more!!
I would, it was a good read. The author could have developed the characters more and added details about relationships. I was a little thin. The main character is a mystery man for most of the book and even at the end you really don't know him very well.
Arthur Clarks 2001
The rescue in Beirut, but it could have been much more detailed than it was. Too fast, too predictable, no chance for the good guys to lose.
It would be fluff - so look for Johhny Depp and Emilo Estevez
Going back to Grishom
In a review of the previous Mitch Rapp book I had commented that the series seemed to be moving towards more politics and less action. This book was a marked deviation from that trend. It delivered exactly what I expected, a fast paced high action spy book. Very little discussion of Washington politics and lots of action.
George Guidall once again does an excellent job of reading the book and really paces well with the story.
