I do a lot of driving and I find I enjoy listening! I am retired and am a multi task. This way I can enjoy a good book!
I really enjoyed the setting and plot of the story. I enjoyed listening to the reader! Great book overall! Enjoy
Story was good and the I enjoyed it, two day's and it kept my interest till the end, waiting to get the other series, a family story, and not much sex, just good family's that stick together. well worth the price.
Great story lines can't wait to read more about the family. Narrator needed to watch her switching back and forth with accents. Especially the Grandmothers.
Other than that, my favorite moments were both times Wes had his bluff called and the twins with Trace and Abby in their bedroom at story time. Abby is a lucky lady and Trace is getting a wonderful woman to share his life. Miracles do happen.
I think the story would have been so much better had I not listened to it. I felt that it was lacking fluency and real personality. I would have enjoyed hearing the voices in my head versus the narrator. The book was good the narrator left much to be desired. It irritated me. Maybe audible isn't for me because I have a hard time listening and wishing for more. I have listened to many books though, and have loved them. So it could be the story was totally predictable.
I bought this book during one of Audible's sales, and it was such a waste of money and time. I have listened to Sheryl Wood's books before and it wasn't bad: they're not my favourite, but nice "in between books". I'm not sure if it was the narrator or if this was just not a good book, but i will definitely not be getting the rest of the series, nor will i ever get a book with Christina Traister as narrator - she didn't express the right emotions, and her accents were terrible. I might give Sheryl Woods another go if the reviews are good.
You do like the main male character, Trace, as he is genuinely sooo in love with Abby and it is so endearing, but Abby seems so stuck-up and there's hardly a scene where she expresses her emotions or thoughts. Not a great love story.
Sorry haven't read the print version.
Have none to compare to.
Will listen to other books by this writer.
I will definitely read on to see if any of the characters grow up and resolve their conflicts. It reminds me so much of real people I know who are stubborn, prideful, selfish, underhanded and immature. Sigh!
The ending was predictable and but we all want the main characters to have a happy ending, so it is satisfying.
Pleasant voice and nice Irish lilt for Gram
Someone needs to be overweight, ugly or have health problems. They can't all be slender, beautiful and robust to be real.
The setting in Maryland makes me want to visit.
