I really enjoyed this story as the main characters are sworn enemies There was some vary funny parts too.
What made Tristan story more engrossing is Isobel and her outrageous younger brothers. Being the only female in the family to care for all types of male personalities was tiresome and rewarding at the same time.
I love the fact that Miss Quinn let Isobel's brothers run amok with Tristan, and not be intimidated by the Devil MacGregor.
Tristan's colorful love life ends with a worthy end.
Reading is a must-have ESCAPE...
Quinn is very innovative in how she bridges each of the editions with the rest in the series. She infuses some historical elements too. Though each of the MacGregor characters are individuals and quite distinguishable from one another, they're each interesting, attractive, and enigmatic. Quinn creates a host of secondary characters that are equally interesting and play critical parts in the story.
In Book 2, the dynamic between Tristan & Isobel simply seduces the reader. The crackling chemistry between the main characters is very entertaining. The verbal foreplay is outstanding. It's a great love story full of twists and turns.
MacDuffie does an outstanding job narrating. It was an enjoyable read. As I've progressed to Book 4 at present, "Seduced..." is still my favorite. "Tamed by a Highlander" Book 3 holds a close second.
Sassy dialogue, humor, and a great reader are important to me.
Sweet, charming and inventive for a highlander story.
two, Tristan, because he is manly, but caring. But Thomas steals the show
1st time. her highland brogue,is just wonderful..right up there with Phil Gigante and Kisten
a sweet highland story
when Tristan Father take Thomas on the front of his horse...it is wonderful.
Yes, definitely. Please make this a movie. I was just telling one of my friends, that I would love to see a movie version of this book. I continue to listen to the last 5 chapters over and over and over again. I love this book.
The Love they share together and how the families came together at the end of the book.
This is my first Carrington MacDuffie's performance. Can you recommend others. Please!!
All of above
Please make this a movie. Thanks
If you're looking for upscale literature, this isn't it. It's definatly no Outlander, but what the heck, it's entertainment. I'm really not sure how I feel about the narrator. I've listened to some of the other books she's read and I think maybe it's just the way the book it written. She has a very nice voice... I'm just not sure what it is. This book it no mind bender. It's alot of telling and not showing. This isn't really a criticizim, it just is what it is. But by god! If I have to listen to the word 'gaze' one more time! Really, that word is used way to much in this book. It's good, not great, but i like the characters and the story better than the first book.
A reviewer at Guilty Indulgence Review Site. I don't go anywhere without a book -ebook or audiobook- and I always have an opinion to share.
I love Highlanders. And Quinn does them justice. These men are strong but loving, protectors and lovers... so damn sexy. The historical references make the story feel more authentic, something I need when listening to any historical romance - you know, setting the scene makes it more believable. And, of course, the highland brand of romance was beautiful.
The narration was okay but I didn't particularly love MacDuffie's male voices. Her female voices were solid but the male voices sounded awkward. Still, it was good enough and I'll still be listening to the next book in the series.
Edwina "I Love Books'
No Bad Narration
Not by choice!! but only if she is the narrator in a series I want to read.
Book 2 of "The Children of the Mist" is Tristan MacGregor and Isobel Fergusson romantic tale of Love Overcoming hate and revenge. The story starts with the Earl of Arygll Robert Campbell's murder. The murder was avenged by Tristan's father Chief MacGregor by the killing of the Chief and Laird of the Fergusson Clan Isobel's father.
Tristan meets Isobel at the Coronation Party of King James. Seduced by a Highlander takes place simultaneously with bk.1 "Ravished by a Highlander". The storylines crisscross each other. Tristan doesn't know who Isobel is he doesn't care because he is a Rake and a Rogue always looking for a skirt to get under. One Kiss with Isobel changes all of that. He learns who she is after a few well placed meetings in gardens after dark. They both soon depart for there respective homes. But once home Tristan can't get her out of his mind. Even though he believes her to be the daughter of the Man who murdered the Uncle who meant everything to him even more then his father. Who had trained him, taught him and loved him back. Despite all this he knows he must bring about a peace between the two feuding clans. So he sets off for Clan Fergusson's holding, only to find that the siblings are working very hard to survive. He is constantly attacked and injured by a very naughty 11 year old Tamas Fergusson. Insuring The older Fergusson brothers and Isobel to let him stay and nurse him back to health. Over a few weeks time they began to trust Tristan and believe he is there to bring peace between the Clans. Him and Isobel fall deeply and Madly in Love.
The story is a bit slow at times, but still very entertaining especially the antics of young Tamas. There are some very interesting twist and turns and a few surprises to the storyline. I enjoyed Seduced by a Highlander a lot!! I encourage you to read it. It can Stand Alone if you read the series out of order.
