Yes, I would.
Not too bad
I bought this book because of all the great reviews but after listening to it, I'm not all sure why. The story was nice. The hero and heroine fell too easily in love. There were really no fighting it at all. It was too easily predicted what would happened at then end. There were really no obstacles. Don't get me wrong, the obstacles were thought off but never really came to be. As I said, there were really no fighting it. They came too easily to be. Overall, though, it was a 3 star. Not all that great but not all that bad.
Romantic, moving, sexy. I actually cried once! narators regular voice bugged me a little but she did great seperating the scottish burrs and english lady. I forgot about it after a half hour anyway. Great love scenes. romantic and sexy but not embarrasingly stepping into erotica like some ive read! lol.
Couldn't get into the story because the narration was terrible. After listening to Davina Porter narrate Diana Gabaldon's Highlander series, I've become spoiled, and this reading falls way short.
Two stars seems too little, but 3 is really too many...
I used to love historical romances, breaking into the genre reading Shanna - years ago. I eventually got too busy to read much and took a hiatus. Audible has gotten me back into books like this, but aside from the Outlander series, I'm shocked at how vapid these formula romance novels have become.
I enjoyed the story but it's just a romance, even so I would still like listen to more stories about the rest of the McGregor brothers and cousins. I'm used to listen to Karen Marie Moning and Lynsay Sands higlander stories that are more steamy and sexy.
Not time well spent, just a way to pass the hour drive into work waiting on the next Iron Druid to come out.
The narration was horrible! While I admit to being spoiled by Davina Porter reading the Outlander series, the Scottish accent in this book made it almost painful.
The narrator had a good voice and would listen to her do a strictly English story, but not Scottish, never again.
WOW! IF YOU LIKE SCOTTISH HIGHLAND ROMANCE YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE THIS SERIES. MACDUFFIE DOES A GREAT JOB WITH ALL THE CHARACTERS SHE BRINGS THEM ALL TO LIFE. THERE IS NOTHING WORSE THAN A NARRATOR THAT JUST READS THE BOOK (BOOORING), BUT A NARRATOR THAT GIVES EACH AND EVERY CHARATER A LIKE. DONT EXPECT TO GET ANY SLEEP IF YOU TURN THIS AUDIO ON AT BEDTIME. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE ENTIRE SERIES.
I hadn't listend to a book in several years and thought I'd see how this works on my kindle. It's actually kinda nice. I used my free credit on this book. I enjoyed the story and found the love story sweet and entertaining. No outrageous misunderstanding like you find in so many romances. Although it is a formulaic historical romance. The narration was quite nice and well acted. Although I found the deep broge when reading male characters a bit harsh but all in all it was well done.
