The book is just not my cup of tea. It isn't that its poorly written, its just too "girlie" for me. It has lots of sex and unrequited love. I listened to the whole thing, but must admit I kept looking to see how many more hours of listening I had to do in order to finish the book. The heroine is beautiful, vulnerable, self-made, devoted, etc. etc. etc. The hero is dashing, intelligent, has a disturbing background that he is trying to make up for, etc etc etc. The heroine's friend had an interesting side line story going on, an illicit romance with a slick politician. She turns to voodoo in order to avenge the hurt he has caused her. Sadly, instead of letting her get her revenge and having the magic work, the writer choses to...well I shouldn't tell the ending since someone out there might like this type of book and I would spoil it for them.
Maybe, but unlikely.
Possibly, if the ratings were good and the synopsis was of interest to me.
I don't really know.
Clare. Her loyalty to her friend and mother
retracing Clare's events of the evening of the murder
this was a book I bought because it was on sale. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did.
visual, relationships and endearing
Beautiful woman has a secret past, meets handsome man with a past and together solve some relationship problems
yes. Lots of good adjectives and good development of characterers and places
A good read
I enjoyed the narration - the voices were good and certainly enhanced the story.
Lots of great suspense and interesting story line.
Close to the top, great for decompressing
Liked the inflection in voice
Yes, I fell asleep listening to it many times
The reader and her southern accent
Can't remember another book but this is the best book I have read in a really long time. I have enjoyed it tremendously. I will read more Sandra Brown book for now on
I was addicted to her voice and accent. She was great and will look for more books she does
Not particularly. But did enjoy the erotic love scenes
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes romance and mysyery
the story line (although a little tedious at times) was interesting and the plot intriguing
great voice for southern dialect - easy to listen to
I liked the idea of the storyline but the book itself was too drawn out. I almost stopped listening to it altogether because I was getting bored. This is surprising because I've like Sandra Brown's other books. The only good thing about the story was that there were so many possible murderers I couldn't figure out who did it until the end.
