Terry McMillan needs to write and let others narrate.
I'd take Gloria , she seems the most enjoyable.
I liked to read as a child and thanks to Audible, I'm able to multitask whilst enjoying 'Me Time' in the form of a good book.
Part of my top 10 listening collection.
None that I've listened to so far.
I didn't pick a favourite, I simply enjoyed the book.
I wouldn't rename it.
The book always made me feel like I was curling up on the porch on a sunny day even though I was doing laundry. I guess it took me to a happy place!
Throughly enjoyed the book. Felt like visiting old friends.
Catching up with girlfriends. Strong women dealing with life's issues with humor, anger & sometime tears. Loved it!!!
First time audible book reader, downloaded onto my kindle fire and it's great, the book is a good read as always, Terry McMillan is one of my favorite authors. Will recommend this book to anyone with same likeness for this type of read.
omg, this was a vivid story, i clearly pictured each character and felt their pain, dispair, joy, laughter, and HAPPY! terry did a wonderful job of Exhaling and then getting to the happy AGAin, after 40 yrs old.. lol.. this is a perfect book to read for ALL women over 40 if you are in or on that journey of "beging life again after 40" loved it all three times i listened to it, wanting to fast forward and rewind each time. i found myself laughing, mad and inspired throughout the book. I cannnot wait until the MOVIE comes out. excellent!!! I am now breathing.....each time i exhale.. lol
I am surprised that this author did not write a better book. I don't think this book is up to her usual standards and performance; perhaps the author was under pressure by her agent or publisher to hurry up get something out. The characters are not well developed and their characters are not meshed well together when presenting as an ensemble. This book is boring and I would never recommend that this author narrate her own work.
This is one of the most depressing books I've ever listened to. It was painful. I put it down several times vowing not to finish it but I wanted to like it, so I struggled through. After the Audible version, I tried to read the hardback version, it didn't get better. It may be the beginnings of a screenplay, but it is horrible novel.
The story read by the multiple readers was not very enjoyable. The story itself was too predictable and the characters superficial and in some cases over the top. Robin was too silly and Savanah too angry. It may have been different had I read the paper version of the book. Also I didn't think Terry McMillan's voice fit the Savanah character. Overall, not an enjoyable read.
if you love Terry McMillian writing this is a great audiobook to add to your collection. I really enjoyed this book and when I read sequel it was a must because I loved Waiting To Exhale....
Never judge a book by all the reviews - I almost decided not to get this book based on the reviews but since it was a "free with membership" offer I thought I would give it a chance. Thank goodness I did, "it was a great read and I plan to listen to it over again. The beginning got off to a slow start, but Terry did a great job and I'm looking forward to a movie in the making. After all these years I actually couldn't remember my favorite ladies but quickly came back in my mind as I got lost into the book. Absoultely fabulous!!! Wanda, Houston, Tx
