Ended too quickly. Seemed like the author rushed to finish it to please the publisher. Characters of the sea serpents were left out of the story during the last few chapters. Author quickly explains what happed to them at the end in one sentence. Complicated family dynamics were not resolved. Not sure what the climax of the story was.
Anne Flosnik drives me crazy. It was all I could do to listen to all three books in the series. Barely distinguishable characters. The accent made me want to scream. I would really love to purchase the Rain Wilds Chronicles but I'm going to have to read them myself. Couldn't stand to have to listen to that again.
Do yourself a favor read this book this gal is so very hard to listen to or play it at double speed
Constant reader. Likes imaginative work, not formulaic filler.
Many interesting ideas are explored in this unfortunately long winded romance novel. The characters are often likeable, but frequently maudlin. Although I read the whole series, I felt short changed in the end. Passable entertainment for long solo drives.
I loved Amber because she is a favorite in another series ;), but overall I liked Etta the best in these books. Even though she was rough, she was a strong person with a good heart, doing what she felt to be best even in the face of hardship and adversity. My favorite kind of character!
I thought she did a good job distinguishing the characters. He voice took a little getting used to, but I ended up enjoying it!
Yes! All Robin Hobb's books are!
I enjoyed the entire series. Unfortunately, I read the Tawny Man series first, so many surprises were already known. I felt the ending was very satisfying, and wasn't left wishing things had turned out differently. I don't like books with depressing endings. Life is too short to be depressed because your favorite character died!
I loved this trilogy especially this final book of the series. I love Anne Flosnik's narration. Her voice is superb. She does each character wonderfully. I was attached to all the characters whether they be "good" or "bad" as the author has a way of showing us both sides of each character.
Perhaps Eragon series. Or Robin Hobb's other Farseer's series.
So much! The accents of each character, the inflections in her voice. She is a true story teller. If I read the book I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much as listening to it.
YES!!! I couldn't cook dinner, take care of business, talk to other people lest anything take me away from the story!
Loved this series so much. Highly recommended to those who like fantasy novels with excellent charactor developement.
I am a mom of 4 that loves loves loves my Megan, Colin, Joshua & Aiden baby.
OH TOTALLY YES!!
how can I choose? Brashen? Althea? Paragon? Rain? I am ln love with all these people
I guess Brashen,
I guess Rain's love for Malta.
This book held me spellbound! I went and bought EVER Robin Hobb book
Only to a dedicated fantasy reader.
It is a teensy little bit Pernlike because there are dragons and people dedicated to them.
This narrator just isn't my favorite.
No! I had periods of being sick of it.
I feel as if many of the characters started developing personalities they didn't have in the first two books. Kennit actually became pretty interesting. I still waiting on Althea.
This is another installment in this engrossing story... I thought it was the final of 3 books, but it's certainly not the end of the story, so I look forward to the next book? Trilogy? Still can't stand the narrator.
