From a genius of characterization and development in an epic that spans not just these 3 books in the Live Ship series, but intertwines magnificently with her other trilogies: Farseer and Fitz and the Fool! Glorious!
I love this story, how it ties into the previous Assassin's trilogy, and leads into the fool's trilogy. What a wonderful conclusion to the Liveship story, and segway into the next trilogy.
I love how the narrator assigns characters voices, and keeps them uniform throughout all three books. I read these books years ago, and it has been a joy to listen to them now. I love Robin Hobb.
I'm hoping to come back and finish this book, but eh, who knows.I'm not feeling super motivated. I felt frustrated with the characters and the series's progress. Feel like we've been dealing with the same set of problems the entire time.
Next up: The Rain Wilds Chronicles 😆😆😆. I loved this series and all of its intertwining storylines. I was so disappointed when I realized my book was ending, but luckily the story continues in the rain wilds chronicles
Ended too quickly. Seemed like the author rushed to finish it to please the publisher. Characters of the sea serpents were left out of the story during the last few chapters. Author quickly explains what happed to them at the end in one sentence. Complicated family dynamics were not resolved. Not sure what the climax of the story was.
Anne Flosnik drives me crazy. It was all I could do to listen to all three books in the series. Barely distinguishable characters. The accent made me want to scream. I would really love to purchase the Rain Wilds Chronicles but I'm going to have to read them myself. Couldn't stand to have to listen to that again.
Do yourself a favor read this book this gal is so very hard to listen to or play it at double speed
