Words I live by: Charm is a glow within a woman that casts a most becoming light on others~Jason Mason Brown
I love the world and how the characters come to life.
Vampires and romance.
I really like hearing her voice doing Bones with an English accent.
Everything you want in one book.
I Love a great supernatural tale, a Love story, PNR, a Cool Mystery and Most Sci-Fi....if there are vampires, weres or witches in it, that's a plus! Basically I am a 40+ y/o young at heart woman rediscovering the wonderful world of books and am now addicted! Lol I LOVE AUDIBLE!!!!!
Yes!!!!! It was wonderful!!! It was a softer side of Mencheres....I really loved it!!
It was similar to all the Night Huntress Books....and just as fabulous!!!
The personality and feelings of each character...she fleshes them out so wonderfully...she gives them such life, you can almost see them!!
Yes...and I almost did!!
This book was beautifully written, narrated, and portrayed....I got more and more excited as it neared the end...and then didn't want it to end...I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the story line with this book
Leaning about Mencharies
Tavia Gilbert is my favorite Narrator
I loved the whole book
I must say I am a Jeaniene Frost Fan for life...
I have a 40 minute commute each way and with out Audible, I'd go crazy! My fav genre is fantasy and I love a great series!
I love the Night Huntress Books, and this "spin off" didn't disapoint! It filled in blanks that were missing when I read the main series. Tavia is wonderful again and keeps the characters in voice character, not missing a beat! You'll love this book, just get it already! :) You need it to complete the series anyway!
Hot romance/Sci Fi we're so lucky to have Audible to feed our book addictions. I love walking my precious dog Sydney & listening to my books
Excellent addition to the Night Huntress series. Love her books. Always exciting and engaging. A must read :)
Another great installment in the 'Night Huntress World' series from Jeanienne Frost and this one is even better than the first. The character of the powerful and misunderstood Mencheres is one of my favourites, so it was good to see him expanded on. Kira was a much stronger female character than Denise in the first book too. The narration is very good, although I still find the voice for Bones annoying, but as he only appears briefly in this one, it doesn't detract. Well worth the money!
This series is addicting!!! Highly recommended. The plot is intricate, characters compelling and narration superb. I often forget that I have not seen these in a movie format because once you begin listening you are immediatly emersed into the world of the night huntress - Thank you Jeaniene Frost for sharing your gift.
I am a "Life is Awesome! Strive to be Worthy of it." student of life kind of guy. Feeding on Chaos and Empowering the Good. Group Hug!
Very Entertaining. Always nice to see how the idea of vampires have evolved. If you like these type of books you will not be disappointed in this series... However, it would be better if you do read the Night Huntress series first, this series branches off from that one. Although reading the Night Huntress series is not a requirement it will provide a HUGE background of the people in this book, I think it makes this series even more enjoyable.
Yes, the story line is very good and twist within
Mencheres. No matter who or what we are everyone wants to be loved and or needed
It was okay, but it would have been better if a man had actually done the male parts
So many books...so little time! :)
Having been engrossed in the Night Huntress Series, I didn't realize that this along with "First Drop of Crimson" happened before "This Side of the Grave". It helps to understand certain details in the Night Huntress books.
It is overall a good story hearing how Mencheres falls in love, but it wasn't a favorite. Granted Mencheres is very old, he seems like such a rigid character. I'm not quite sure how to take him. Tavia does a great job just like all the other books, don't get me wrong, but maybe if she gave him more emotion, it would make me like him better. Or perhaps that is just how he should be.
In any case, t is still a great story as Kira and Mencheres come together and things very quickly spark between them. I was also eager to hear how Mencheres thinks he is doomed to die, but perhaps he looked at everything all wrong. It takes falling in love with Kira for him to finally see what he really was seeing in his mind all along.
Definitely worth the credit, even though it isn't one of my favorite. It is still intense and steamy in a lot of ways! :)
