As I have read all of the Dark Series that Audible has so far this was a fun book to lesson to, yet I felt that something was off ( I did not like the domination with cruelty, with the father and the torture of women in this book ), I liked the beginning action and the ending for the set up for the next book to come, I liked the Main characters of this book yet the Sex was a little much Also.. I found myself only giving this book a 4 star rating not because of the Narration because that was fantastic it was the drawn out parts of this book that I could not get over, I am hoping the next book is better and less drawn out in the middle... Keep in mind I did Finnish this book in two days so it is quite fun even with the down sides...
One of the best Carpathian Novels, yet! The narrators were superb. I couldn't have asked for better; sexy, seductive, and I knew who each character was by there voices alone. They also expressed the emotions of the characters so very well. I will enjoy this novel many times in the years to come. I own all of this authors novels and, although most are quite good, this is one of her best. Some of them start sounding like the same storyline after you've listened to a dozen or so; not the case with this novel. Enjoy!
I think Phil Gigante and Natalie Ross are an awesome pair together. They made listening to this book a terrific experience.
I simply love Dominic and Solange story,it had romance, action, suspense and humor. Another great book!!!
Believer in what you can't see
I like the fact that Dominic can walk in the sun after taking Solange's blood. I like that they fight as equals and defeat the dark jaguar leader.
I liked the little black jaguar that the mage changed. It was nice when they were able to fix him and he was able to stay with them.
No, even though there was a male and female, the split between narrators lost the smoothness of the story.
Never give up hope that miracle can happen.
Great series. To bad that most of the books are not available. I am glad I bought them when I did.
Nothing hated this audio
I like romance this was next to porn others Ive listened to not this bad.
Your beliefs become your thoughts. Your thoughts become your words. Your words become your actions.
I already have. I start it in my opal every night when I go to bed.
I have read/heard all of Christine's books. This is the one that will always stand out in my mind, and is my favorite. The entire story struck me as being different from the majority of the rest of her books.
For me, the biggest and most beautiful differences were the verses and comments to each other at the beginning of each chapter. I found they added a deeper sense of romance and love to the entire story.
I loved the growth of both characters throughout the entire story but feel that Solange's character changed the most. Of course, for me the most verbal enjoyment was Solange's
monologue/thoughts throughout the book. Solange's character has a wry sense of humor.
The most deeply sad and moving parts were when she described in detail the death of her family members. It was very sad, bringing to the surface loved ones I have lost to death, and making me cry. Her sense of failure and the tiredness of spirit, the self recriminations because of the women she was unable to protect and save was also heartbreaking. Her character was definitely the most conflicted in the book.
I also greatly enjoyed the narrative/monologue of Dominic's character. I was quite drawn to his character and those qualities that made him standout from the other Carpathian men Christine has written about. This is the first audio book that I have listened to so that may be why Dominic stands out so much for me. His growth seemed to me, to be from a state of imagination, and also of a sense of duty and fate to one of wonderment when he realizes that he has a lifemate, and who his lifemate is, his sense of failure for giving up too soon and believing that he would seal both their fates because he gave up waiting for her,and then later his tender care, emotionally, and physically of Solange. His courtly gestures and his sense of humor with, and towards her.
All of the Carpathian men are very strong, have high standards, honor is what their lives are about and in this day and age, honor is an empty word. The fact that Carpathian men are looking/waiting for their lifemates is something that I know firsthand also adds to Christine's books, I would call it 'the hook', the quality that keeps us coming back.
As with all of Christine's books, the erotic wild, hot lovemaking is a definite plus, and also for me, (even though it is far from realistic that two 'virgins' could be that sexually aware) the fact that neither person has had sexual experience is refreshing.
All in all, this book, these characters, both of which are strong in their own right, made me believe that true devoted love is possible.
I want one...
Wow, don't make me choose! I'd have to say Solange. She found the love she didn't believe was possible.
Every single word, the nuances of character, the interactions between them.
I am attracted to voices. For over 20 years I worked in communications so I have an awareness that some people might not have.
Honestly, I fell in love with Phil Gigante's voice, which is why I go to sleep listening to him every night.
Dominic and Solange, A love that shines in the darkness.
It is nice to watch how each man(and some women) are transformed by love.
No, the fun was listening to it in pieces.
The male and female voice narrations gave depth and life to the love story. I fell madly in love with Dominic right along with Solange. The poetry at the beginning of each chapter, just wonderful; the poetry enhanced the love story and made it much more moving. There was lots of passion, but the tenderness of love story is what I can't forget. Together the two heros where invincible. I couldn't put this book down. I devoured the novel in 2 days; and then played it again. There are a lot of Carpathian books, but I recommend this one as a must read. I been looking through the series for my next thriller!, This book is the second Dark Series Novel that I've read; I read the Author,s Edition of the Dark Prince, Book 1. Both stories were page turning, but I must say that I enjoyed this book more, because the heroine was a fiece, strong, and a couragous warrior, as well as sweetly feminine and vunerable to her man. The lovers were hot, hot, hot...this is one of the best erotic fantasies I have every read.
This continues to be a major story, I can't wait for the next one in my wish list. I haven't been disappointed. AWESOME!
