Yes, I would listen to it again but not for a few years, as it is just amazing and I need sometime to appreciate it again just as if it was the first time.
The story is well written and posed.
When she killed the president of Distrtict 13
Yes, I couldn't put it down.
Both author and narrator show skill in their respective roles, but neither appeal to my tastes. Suzanne Collins wrote an enjoyable series and ends it well with this book. While the story was captivating I was disappointed with the predictability of the story.
Perhaps it was just this series but Carolyn McCormick didn't give the series any particular benefits. Her character voices can be cartoon-like and the added drama by her voice occasionally took away from the story.
I would be skeptical but not completely opposed.
Worth the read.
The Hunger Games
Flexiblity that I can listen while I drive
Yes, I cried at one part.
I loved everything about it. Great story!
As a sequel, I think it ranks right up there with "The Two Towers" in the LOTR works.
I think her interpretation of the dramtic moments hightens the reader's interest.
YES! I actually got it all listened to in 2 days (nearly 12 hours worth).
Wonderful book! Loved it!
This story was a little bit more complicated than the previous two. The war strategies and personal agendas required somewhat more attention from the listener. I enjoyed the entire series, and wished for a few more trips to Panem.
Haven't read the print verson, but a friend said it was hard to "get into" the print version
Katnessl. Strong, smart caracter
Read with such passion!
Catnis was her same over dramatic self when she was reflecting on her situations but again, other than that, the entire series was a fantastic series to listen too and made my long drive much more tolerable. Some of it was bordering on predictable towards the end and things seemed to happen too rapidly but I would listen to it again entirely even if I had to break it up into daily driving episodes.
Hamich- he was very unpredictable and seemingly uncaring
Hamich- she hit him on the head with his different states of soberness
I am having a hard time finding a final book in a series that I love. Gail got my nerves and I couldn't take him anymore.
How did they find eachother and fall in love?? HOW DID THEY DO IT?
She is an amazing reader
Canadian girl in Kansas, love audible, books on kindle or kindle fire, and old fashioned books! I enjoy fiction most, mostly books with strong female leads. Favourite authors: Diana Gabaldon, Stephen King, Jodi Picoult, Wally Lamb, Pat Conroy, Andre Dubus III, Lisa Genova, many more!
Mockingjay would have to rank right in the middle of all of the audiobooks I've listened to so far. The book was neither terrible, nor wonderful.
The ending of this fantastic series was somewhat disappointing. I was left thinking 'Is this it?'
I love McCormick in all three books. Her voice is soothing and it works well at every speed. I felt she was a perfect choice for the narrator of this fabulous series.
I guess my only reaction to this book was that I was disappointed that it wasn't as good as the first and the second, 'The Hunger Games' and 'Catching Fire,' respectfully. The book is sad and it's sort of confusing for kids.
