I loved these stories! I would love it if they would do more series buys like this to buy multiple stories at once!
That being said the narrators voices for the oaks was shrill and headache inducing at times. The singing was hard to listen to. If I wasn't involved in the story I would have deleted it off my phone!
This series is one of my favorites. I bought it initially for my daughter, but I got caught up in the story. The past two weekends have been Ga'hoole marathons for me. I just bought the last 3 available books.
I have enjoyed all of the characters, the narrator brought all of the characters to life.
It reminds me of other series like the J.R. Tolkien series about The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings trilogy and J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. It is a quest about discovering who and what one is destined to be and what strength it takes to be one's best. it is about good versus evil and the trials and triumphs involved. It is an adventure tale and coming of age story for a band of young orphaned owls.
Owl characters are well-developed, with just enough humor to balance the drama and tension! Narrator was very good at voicing a variety of different characters. I can't wait to listen to more in this series!
I was a 'readaholic' for most of my life. I started crochet and other hobbies. That took away from my reading time. I discovered audio books at the library. That set me off. now, that I am older my eyes make it too difficult to read. So I now am a very diligent audio book listener!
I enjoyed this audiobook. It has a series theme to deal with. There were a few parts that got a little long. Pamela Garelick does a good job with her narration and characters. She should not have tried to sing the songs. Doing that totally detracted from my overall rating. Perhaps playing a soft background musical theme while reciting the songs or just reading them would have been better.
