"Ms. Brockmann is a Secret Favorite"

I continually forget to check out Suzanne Brockmann but when I do she is SO ON POINT! I love her simple sometimes edgy writing that paints a vivid picture! She not brash but sassy in getting her readers to go along for the "reader ride". I enjoy that. I would love a Prince Joe and the way Ms. Brockmann writes this wonderful book, she can make you feel like you get one.

    "Pre-Fab Writing"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

If the author had written a new, fresh novel that didn't bore me to tears. It was as if there was some preset guidelines that instructed "Insert royal jerk here" and "Place handsome brooding he-man there" or "This is where the emotional unattainable beautiful woman suddenly realizes that perhaps she could fall in love, but of course it will be with the last guy she thought possible." Sort of a mad libs feel.

Has Prince Joe turned you off from other books in this genre?

I'll admit. I'm not a romance fan. I find them insipid and silly. I THOUGHT this book was going to be more of an action/adventure flavored by an unexpected romance, but boy was I wrong! The supposed action was only there to bring two unlikely characters together who could then have lots of "Oh why doesn't he LISTEN to me!" and "I'll show her how awesome Navy Seals are" moments.

What three words best describe Ashley Adlon’s performance?

    It was fine.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Irritation.

"You gotta love Brockmann's Navy SEALs"
Would you listen to Prince Joe again? Why?

This is an enjoyable, easy listen.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Prince Joe?

You can't help but fall for the tough Navy SEAL who makes a dying girl's wish to meet a prince a reality. Despite the inner emotional turmoil he feels, he's able to maintain his regal bearing and leave her feeling like she is a princess worthy of any prince's attention.

Joe Catalonotto is one extremely talented man!

    "A delightful romance"
If you could sum up Prince Joe in three words, what would they be?

This book is a charming fantasy and the fact that it doesn't have an ounce of verisimilitude doesn't detract from its appeal.

What did you like best about this story?

That the hero and the heroine wind up at the end reunited and eager to get married "for ever after".

Which character – as performed by Ashley Adlon – was your favorite?

I thought Ashley Adlon did a good job performing all the characters in the story.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    Fairy tales come true.

    Any additional comments?

Since I had so much fun listening to Prince Joe, I am sure that I will listen soon to another book by Suzanne Brockmann.

I used to be an avid reader of Romance novels. I usually preferred the Harlequin & Silhouette series''. I would read several books a day over the summer and several a week during school months. I took a long break as an adult but have gotten back to it this year and am very much enjoying my Audible experience. So far I still really like general Romance but have found a real unexpected joy in Supernatural & Paranormal Romances.

    "Not terribly impressive"

This book seemed like it should be good but for some reason it just didn't click for me. I think part of it was the narration and accents used. It may also have been that while the premise was a bit different, the 'problems' faced by the couple were far too cliche. Lack of communication, easy (realistic) changes to wording, etc would have gotten them smoothly through their personal issues and cut about 30 minutes off the book's length. I also found it somewhat lacking in the 'sex scene' department. I definitely wouldn't consider this a 'steamy' romance. It did have a good ending and I don't think it was a complete waste of time and money. I'm not sure I'll buy any other books from the series though.

I'm loving audio books more each day-being able to walk the dog, do the dishes or keep an eye on grandkids in the pool-all while listening to a book is great. My favorite genres are mystery/romance, some paranormal and lots of Science Fiction.

    "Brockman consistently writes solid novels"

Prince Joe, The first book in her "Tall, Dark and Dangerous" Navy Seal series is a good solid Brockman read.

Some sex, some humor, some tough guys fighting and a terrorist or two is Brockmans solid plot..but they aren't boring in any way.

I downloaded quite a few of these that I hadn't read in a recent audible sale and for a quick listen on a day sitting by the pool it can't be beat.

Fun, funny with a touch of sex....I enjoy her typical NavySeal books a lot. Check it out!

    "Such a fun story!"

I really enjoyed this story -- a fun blend of military and romance novel. It is a fun, easy listen, but it really kept my attention. I rooted for the main characters to work out their differences and to fall in love. Looking forward to hearing the other stories in this series!
