Okay, so this wasn't a bad book, it was just okay. I guess I didn't find it to be all that great because I just came off of Brockmann's Troubleshooters series. Now that was a good series. The narration was excellent too. I guess I was just expecting the same from this series and was disappointed. It's not a bad book though, just not as good as I expected.
I love Suz Brockmann and the Troubleshooter series. I have been wanting to read this series for awhile. Good story. A bit predictable but fun and interesting ride.
Good character development, but the lead characters were a bit stupid. The back and forth between the leads was redundant and a bit trite. I get that the plot needs to have misunderstandings, but both leads are intelligent people, and some of the misunderstandings seemed VERY contrived.
Overall, worth the read, but can definitely tell this is an early work.
No spoilers! Love HOT, sexy books w/a plot. No vampires, paranormal, teens 4 me. I also review in exchange for books-lots of fun surprises!
This was really slow going. It seemed to take forever to finish.
Media consultant Veronica St. John has been hired to teach a rugged Navy SEAL to impersonate a European prince who's been targeted by terrorists. But one conversation and Veronica knows there's no way she can turn streetwise New Yorker Joe Catalanotto into nobility. Joe, on the other hand, is confident he's got what it takes. Two days isn't a lot of time to get the job done...but it's enough time to fall in love.
I'm not sure. It was so slow but the last hour was very good and more what I'd expect from Brockmann.
On the cruise ship during the final hour was less he loves her/she loves him and more action.
It is the start of a series...I may continue but it is not something I'm excited/cannot wait to dive into.
Others comment that this is an earlier work of Brockmann's-I agree...I'm willing to continue with the series but ONLY if the books are heavily discounted.
You know you've read a good book when you turn the last page and feel a little as if you have lost a friend. ~Paul Sweeney
It was a typical romance based adventure. If you looking for some heavy revelations this is not the book for you. If you are looking for cute untamable man gets tamed kinda book... here ya go.
I have not. Narration was cute and light... pairing with the book well.
No, but I would totally watch the Lifetime movie on my couch as to further traumatize my boyfriend.
This is great... for what it is. If you are looking for a fun, romantic, light read ... This is your book. If you are looking for substance and huge plot revelations... keep looking.
Yes. It was a great story, a little predictable at times, but a great read.
The characters were so easy to like
She did a great job with jer voice in changing the characters
I continually forget to check out Suzanne Brockmann but when I do she is SO ON POINT! I love her simple sometimes edgy writing that paints a vivid picture! She not brash but sassy in getting her readers to go along for the "reader ride". I enjoy that. I would love a Prince Joe and the way Ms. Brockmann writes this wonderful book, she can make you feel like you get one.
Reading Teacher Recommendations!
If the author had written a new, fresh novel that didn't bore me to tears. It was as if there was some preset guidelines that instructed "Insert royal jerk here" and "Place handsome brooding he-man there" or "This is where the emotional unattainable beautiful woman suddenly realizes that perhaps she could fall in love, but of course it will be with the last guy she thought possible." Sort of a mad libs feel.
I'll admit. I'm not a romance fan. I find them insipid and silly. I THOUGHT this book was going to be more of an action/adventure flavored by an unexpected romance, but boy was I wrong! The supposed action was only there to bring two unlikely characters together who could then have lots of "Oh why doesn't he LISTEN to me!" and "I'll show her how awesome Navy Seals are" moments.
It was fine.
This is an enjoyable, easy listen.
You can't help but fall for the tough Navy SEAL who makes a dying girl's wish to meet a prince a reality. Despite the inner emotional turmoil he feels, he's able to maintain his regal bearing and leave her feeling like she is a princess worthy of any prince's attention.
Joe Catalonotto is one extremely talented man!
