The story was light and funny.
The entire family and the similarities of real life.
Great narrator. Engaging and funny.
The story would make me laugh, cry and I couldn't wait to listen more.
Halfway through this book, I went ahead and bought the next book in the series.
This was a good romance with plenty of substance in the story, as well as many loveable family members to follow. Just enough detail to keep it interesting and not too fluffy, with some steaminess as well. The narration by Lauren Fortgang was fabulous!
Lauren is great
The characters just meshed. Love the interactions between them.
Will read her other books.
Goodreads recommended this book for me and I had it in my Wish List for quite awhile. I didn't like the description of the book, felt it wasn't something I wouldn't enjoy. I was wrong! I ended up reading a free novella from Shannon Stacey, which I liked (it was part of the Kowalski series) and decided to give it a try. It wasn't what I expected from the description. I don't want to give away any of the plot, so let me just say I was pleasantly surprised by the book and will be reading more of the series.
I love books, it's my great escape.
Keri and Joe were young lovers, separated by almost 20 years and too much water under the bridge. They find each other and love again. I loved this story because it’s usually the woman who is left by the man and this is a great twist because this time the man was left by the woman. Keri has to eat crow so to speak because she comes back to Joe needing a favor to save her job. Like the old saying goes, where there is smoke there is fire. These high school sweethearts reunite after 20 year and find that it’s better with time. I am really starting to love the Kowalski family. This is the first book in a great series. I am definitely going to get them all.
The narrators voice was always pleasant and the story was very sweet.
It is fine just the way it is.
The scene where they get into the mud and the girls get soaked and muddy.
Childhood friends are the best friends.
I have found myself really enjoying romantic stories recently. This one was great. I listen on my commute (1 hour each way) and found myself looking forward to getting back in the car and back into the story. I cared about the characters and thought about them even after I'd finished the whole audio book. The acting/reading was excellent. (That's really important to me.) I would recommend this book highly to anyone who enjoys this genre.
Light, Fun, Frivolous
This book is by no way a masterpiece, but for a fun listen it hits the spot.
The narration was wonderful, and believable, and not all the characters sounded the same.
Joe, he was stable, successful and madly in love without being a pushover.
To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.
The Kowalski family was a typical big family group. Loved the way they resolved their issues. Shows that marriage can be forever if you work at it, and talk to each other, be tolerant of others views. Kari got a big dose of it, after some soul searching and listening to her heart she admitted she still loved Joe and let him in.
Happily ever after :)
New Narrator for me, she did a very good job. No real complaints.
