It was a good day when I realized I could combine my two hobbies- reading AND knitting. Audible has seen me through many projects!
I could hardly rip myself away from this story, staying up late into the the night to finish. A great read and I can't speak highly enough for the reader of this book- who did an OUTSTANDING job with it! Totally "credit worthy".
The story is somewhat reminiscent of my own, but with myself in the role of idiot. Maybe because of this the ending hit me quite hard. I saw it coming, but still feel haunted. I'm off to go be really nice to my husband!
This book kept me up nights because I was so involved with the characters I couldn't stop listening, anxiously awaiting the next development. Very funny - just adored Emma. Dex had his moments of being so shallow I almost couldn't stand it, but there was a softness about him that redeemed him in my eyes. Very sorry about the ending though. Had to listen to the 'twist' twice just to make sure I had heard right. Even so, I found the book very satisfying and the reader was fantastic. Will definitely listen to her again.
This was one of the most boring books I have read since becoming a Audible.com reader. The book was pointless. It had a couple "laugh out loud" parts, but only a couple. I kept trying to figure out where it was all going...and then a very boring end.
I say, "give up" to the author.
This title sounded like a great listen. But the narrator on this story is very hard to listen to and understand. Scottish accent and monotone delivery is very difficult on the ears. Had to give up after the first 30 minutes.
Long and drawn out. They visit the characters every year, but it is all the same. He likes her. She likes him. They never quite connect for years and years and years and years.
Yes, I would probably try another book...but it will be his last chance to capture me as an ongoing reader. I was actually angry with myself for continuing to listen to this book in the hope it would get better, it never did. It was the same thing page after page..she wants him, he doesn't want her, then nobody wants him so he wants her because she is the only one who wants him...and on....and on..
Probably, but it will have to be a lot better than this book.
There wasn't anything I didn't like...which I think is a pretty good recommendation.
Both of the main characters need to be deleted from the book. You keep hoping they finally get it right but they wind up being losers from beginning to end. He is basically worthless and goes down hill from there. She had potential but just continued to make bad choices because she is insecure and co-dependent. And this sceniero continues page after page, after page.
Leave this one on the shelf.
The was a little disappointing...not sure what all the fuss is about...I was depressed by the ending but I guess I like my fiction happily ever after....Hope that's not a spoiler...it really is kind of a surprise ending, and that's cool.
...to a book I can't even understand the narrator (16 hours+). I didn't read anywhere that the story was based "across the pond." I usually listen to the sample first because I'm tired of listening to British accents on Audible books, I'll never make that mistake again!. It sounded like a great story and I was in a hurry, I needed something quick to have for a road trip, but I found myself fast-forwarding after 30 mintues. Sorry, but I tried.
I'm having a bit of bad luck, the last 3 or so books I haven't been able to finish, usually too boring. What a waste of a $15 credit times 3.
