The story includes romance, intrigue, filming on location stories, and mystical happenings. The overall story is fun and interesting, but the narrators almost made the story stressful to listen to. While they are usually pretty good (see other books they narrated), they put too much stress in the narration of this book. Too bad.
Hands down the worst audible book I've ever downloaded. Thin plot, flat characters and obnoxious narration - a trifecta of terrible. Blasted it off my i-pod permanently about 3 chapters in. I am dumbfounded by the higher rater reviews.
Pick just one plot. Or maybe pick one main problem. No wonder this guy was seeing ghosts. With that many things going on he needed all the help he could get.
The whole thing was like being apart of a bipolar nightmare while trying to make it a romance.
Start at 1 minute and cut till one minute before it ended.
I know the above answers are brutal but I fought really hard to try to get into the book. But this story dealt with to many serious issues and then tried to be cute-sy. It just ended up being something that my friends and I would have written 20 years ago in Jr High. Then to throw in a ghost that was like a Jimmy Cricket was horrible. I made it through half the book and finaly gave up. I have friends who are bi-polar and this book was like talking to them as they went on and off thier medication. I love my friends and this good had good points but it was just a painful experience. Both of the Narators did male female voices and it was again a good effort but JUST PAINFULL!Was this book written by one person? There were so many diffrent issues, stories and conflicts I felt like I was listening to three books and or authors all at the same time.
The story is great, but just a heads up that the narrator has a lisp. At first I thought it was an adaptation for a specific character, but the more I listened the more apparent it became.
I am a huge fan of romances and happy endings. I like books that take me away from everyday life and into the land of romance, some adventure and of course happy endings.
It took a little while to get really involved in the plot but once there it was a true joy to listen to the story. I loved all the characters and the narrators. Was worth every penny I spent on it.
An okay story except for one major thing!
Patrick Lawlor's voice is all wrong for this story. He uses the same excited-juvenile voice for all his characters. I kept expecting him to say "Pa! Barney! Aunt Bea made pie!"
