I liked the book quite a bit. You should read smash cut first. Shares the same characters. It is a romance but the story line is good. starts off slow but picks up to a good story.
Usually I can't wait to put on the headphones and hear what comes next. But I can't find myself caring what happens and I'm a third of the way through. First disappointing novel by Sandra Brown I've encountered and I've read almost all of her stuff.
I will listen to anything Victor Slezak narrates, but this was a weak plot from Sandra. I have all of her books on Audible (which I listen to over and over again), but not sure I'll listen to this a second time.
I really, really hate it when I waste a credit. I've tried twice to get into this story and characters, but it just isn't happening. Taking way too long to hook any interest and the narrator falls short, too. Maybe I shouldn't have listened to this one so soon after The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest. Can I have my credit back?
This book didn't have the normal flare that I'm used to finding in Sandra Brown novels. I don't consider it a waste of a credit, but it seemed to ramble on and on in places without holding my interest. I like the fact that it is a sequel to Smash Cut and we are able to catch up with some of those characters, as well as get to hear Dodge's story, but I just couldn't warm up to the story as a whole.
The narration wasn't great either, which did not help matters.
yes. I've liked other books that she's written
He's usually better than this. His southern drawl was rather annoying on some characters.
It was a slow start and not the most realistic ending (she fell back on an old standard twist). Plus the narrator made it difficult to like the main character at all. I wonder if the author wanted him to be portrayed as THAT crotchety.
I love to listen and read books. I don't waste a minute...I listen when I am driving, cleaning, getting my nails done, etc. Fiction books are my favorites.... mysteries.
I love Sandra brown books. The stories are good and this one was very suspenseful
Nice job. Enjoyable read.
