Sometimes the dramatization is excellent. Other times the dramatization is very annoying and distracting. At times the "Hollywood" distracts from the message.
This audio performance often omits who says what and often just jumps into dialog - skipping over those "unimportant" narrations cues given in Scripture. (I personally feel that this was a mistake. Nothing in Scripture is unimportant - not even the narration cues of who says what.)
You have to understand: this is an audio "performance". It is meant to sound like a radio drama. This means that it is has a higher entertainment value than study value.
In summary: For listening in the car: good.
For Bible study and reading along while listening - not recommended.
I truly believe everyone can get at least one thing from this audio book...and it is easy to read/listen everywhere you are...
the Promise within
easy listening, another way to learn what you are reading
EXTREMELY necessary for growth
don't put it off...get it now...read/listen, surrender, grown...eternally
Well done, Inspiring.
The story of David killing Goliath.
They make it enjoyable even through the drier parts.
Probably the most appropriate rendition of the Bible I have heard. The narration is clear and even can make the geneologies meaningful. Most importantly, it was performed respectfully.
I purchased an audible Bible because I was in the hospital for an extended period of time, and was having trouble reading and comprehending. I thought this would be a great alternative, especially at night, when I was trying to go to sleep. Turns out, that while the narration is great, and the sound effects are also great, the fact is, unless you either don't care where you start listening, or if you have LOTS of time to find the passage you were hoping to listen to, this version can be quite frustrating. If I had it my way, I think I would return it. I use my Bible to find specific passages, and I really cannot do that with this one. It's more of a nice story book, but not much more. Very frustrating, because I really wanted to like it.
I have this on CD's and it is great but for some reason when downloading on my kindle it starts at Proverbs. I am unable to start on a certain chapter and/or verse. So I find it OK if I just want to listen to the New Testament. But I wanted it to be more user friendly and I wanted the entire Bible.
This is litteral translation of the WORD.no GREATER GIFT has been given and no greater freedom has ever been fought for. More or harder than the right to receive and share this Passion. Having the word dramatized is not necessary for me but this dramatization is better than most I've heard. Thankful to audible for offering this. If the Word is bread for your life i highly recommend.

Laugh with joy and cry tears of joy for the Peace and Promise of Life
I know as each day passes we draw nearer to the fulfillment of this Word.the more Word we have in us the less room we have for lies. Don't wait for time not traveling.you can chew on this while driving, working, exercising,or anywhere at anytime life permits.
Yes. The narrating is great and the NKJV translation is very good.
There are many narrators. They all do well.
Usually the background music is great, but sometimes the background music is irritating, or confines the mood. It would be nice if one ear had just the narration without the background music, so I could choose whether I want to include the background music.
I liked the format of this book very much. Initially, I thought it was awkward with the different narrators and subtle sound effects, but later on saw that this was a great idea. Imagine how tedious it would be to hear someone just reading the bible verbatim and saying John 1:1 "blah blah blah," so I think this is a good option for an audiobook if you're in the market for a bible. The narrators are all superb.
audio books are Theater of the Mind when done right. They lift words from a page written by an author and transport you into another world
All the actors bringing the word of god to life in such a powerful and masterful way.
So many, I think I will pick Mosses as it was the first part that really helped bring the bible to life in this format for me
All the actors show how masterful they are at there craft as they bring such life to the word of God
It's the Bible and the word of god so it is to me very moving indeed
If you haven't read the bible you should give this a listen. If you have read the bible this will bring the story to life even more. Masters of the Craft like Jason Alexander , Joan Allen , Jim Caviezel , Richard Dreyfuss , Louis Gossett , Marcia Gay Harden , Stacy Keach , Malcolm McDowell , Gary Sinese , Marisa Tomei and so many more give life to the word of GOD . O can't recommend this enough.
