I enjoy mysteries, wrapped with violence and sprinkled with romance.
If I enjoy a story I usually will listen to it again.
Rafael. I like how his character in developing and still stays true.
I like narrators who can individualize each character in such a way that each person is distinct and the acting is compelling.
Elena's flashbacks were vivid.
I love books and love to get lost in the fantasy. I'm always looking for a new good story to bury myself in. :)
Great second book in the series. I enjoyed it and thought it was very well done. It great job of furthering the series. It built on the relationship of Elena and Raphael and did a good job with it while the secondary plot interesting. I was well satisfied with this additon to the series and the only thing it left me wanting for is more.
Grwat books, Great reading, great reviews and I can re-read them at anytime.
I would recommend this series to everyone who loves to listen Angel books!!! the perceptive of this book is from the Angel side!
I wish I had stopped with the first of the series. The narration is just getting more and more annoying. Does this incredibly strong female lead really have such a wimpy, expressionless voice?
I, unfortunately, lost interest in the first half and it just seemed repetitive. Somebody tries or does kill/maim someone else, someone else gets revenge and so on. The angel premise is fascinating. I just wish the story was more engaging.
My name is Irene and I'm a lifelong bookaholic. A few years ago, I started adding audiobooks and I'm so happy I joined Audible in 2015 :-))
Elena faces the changes to her body & how to use it; developing relationships with Raphael's 7 & many other adjustments with her new life & world. An Angel's plot to grab power brings home how vulnerable she is and the urgency in strengthening her body & fighting skills. Elena's relationship with Raphael grows closer. Lijuan reveals herself. Eyre is the voice of the series. Completely recommend!
This first two books of this series were not bad but they were not particularly good either. Definitely not good enough to make me want to continue with the series so I'm stopping here.
My favorites are Fantasy and Sci-Fi, but I can always enjoy a Mystery or Romance.
Picking up where the last book left off it takes the reader on an adventure for the Refuge to the Forbidden City in Beijing. It's ending though leaves a cliff hanger and the reader wanting more. I advise if getting this book to get the next as well.
