Witty, Exciting, Interesting
I can't think of any other stories like this one. It is written from the point of view of a victim that escaped her abductor. But when I was listening to it I did sometimes think of "My Story" by Elizabeth Smart. The only similarities are that the creeps that abducted them raped them repeatedly and meant to keep them as life partners.
I'm not sure I can say it's exactly a favorite scene, that's the wrong word. But the scene that had the most impact **** spoiler alert **** was when Annie defends herself against her abductor and saves herself.
Lost is Not Forgotten
This book had a lot of bends in the current. It's exciting. I completely recommend this book to anyone who likes mystery, thrillers, or drama.
Unexpected twist at the end. Great plot and character development. I couldn't stop listening; and already looking for another book by the same author!
My husband and I were in Bordeaux and listened every evening for entertainment. No TV. That being said, it had an excellent touching story that felt finished but then had an unexpected twist. Characters and plot were fully developed.
Yes, I worried about the female.
Well NOT the mother! That voice was so annoying.
When everyone thinks you're dead, who is fighting for you?
I gave the book to my niece who is a Gone Girl fan.
The story was so realistic and the narrator did an amazing job with portraying the characters. I found myself so absorbed in what was happening.
Trauma, tragedy, and healing. Well written story of a woman's struggle with coming to terms with her new life. A must read!

if you like suspense this is the BOOK, not gonna give up to much, but let me say this, I could have given up, YOU'LL NO WHAT I MEAN IF YOU GET THE DARN BOOK. I hear the author is new, if this is the first book written, I can't even imagine what's coming next. HATS OFF TO U. I'll be on the lookout for whatever's next. The narrator also needs be commended for a wonderful job, she kept my attention (which is very HARD for me). OMG, what a great book.
Better narration than others I've listened to by Angela Dawes. Story is icky. And there were gratuitous twists at the end. As if it isn't bad enough just being held and raped for a year, the author had to add stuff.
