I enjoyed this book, though it was fun...
I love dogs, and I very much enjoyed the inneraction between the main characters. Not your usual love story. I laughed out loud with is always a plus for me.
I have been reading Nora Roberts for many years and I am starting to feel like I am hearing the same story with different settings and names. This book was extremely predictable, the narrator was terrible, and with the unnecessary foul language I wish I could get a refund!
Tell us about yourself!
I loved this story! I couldn't wait to get home to listen to more. Boo hoo to the whiners who didn't enjoy this story. I found it totally wonderful.
11th/12th Grade Reading Teacher Love reading and love listening to audio books in my car.
I can't remember when I thought about not finishing a Nora Roberts novel. The Search was simply not up to her standards. The characters were weak and the story line was predictable. Even the end disappointed because there was really no great confrontation. I knew exactly what was going to happen and it did...without drama or suspense. I wish I could recommend this book...but I can't.
This book contains two of my absolute favorites - a Nora Roberts mystery and good, sound dog training advice. I was constantly amazed as I read at how well Nora Roberts managed to reflect current principles in positive dog training. She did a GREAT job! Whether you know dogs and dog training, or not, this is a book to enjoy!
I should have known from the cover that this was a good old fashioned bodice ripper, complete with the brutish man and waif like girl.
It's SO predictable, the sex scenes were completely cringe worthy and the narrator had the most bizarre intonations, drove me crazy.
I liked the bits with the dogs, but overall, disappointing, dull, predictable, boring, meh!
the story had plenty of dogs, which makes it so much better, good characters and creepy villians. I really enjoyed the narration; fast and snappy. Much better than the ultra-dramatic-hot and sweaty narrations.
Once again, Nora Roberts creates characters that you would like to have as personal friends -- warm, strong, a bit edgy, and who are willing to look far beyond the surface in their relationship.
Another winner from one of my all time favorite authors. Nora Roberts crafts a great story about a strong, intelligent woman. The detail about her work, family, and friends leaves you feeling the warm, fuzzy comfort associated with spending time with an old friend. But there is enough heat and suspense to keep the story from falling into clichéd sloppy romance without a backbone.
This was definitely a typical NR Romance-Suspense, although she does better with JD Robb's stories she has delivered again. If you liked this one you'll like Black Hills too - same type of story. I like where she is going with the story line - it makes for better reading. Something to offer rather than the same old romance..boy meets girl - girl hates boy - boy changes girls mind - girl like boy and keeps him. NR puts boy and girl together because of trouble. I think she achieved what she wanted -- it is entertaining and takes you away for awhile. Some of the other reviewers said, if you love dogs - you'll like this story. I am not much of a dog lover but I liked this book.
