It was just ok. The plot resolved itself way too quickly and was too abrupt. I would have liked for there to be more action and less conversations about the possibility of danger/action.
I'm a HUGE Nora Roberts fan, but I found this book like most of her recent stand-alone suspense/romance novels...just not as good as they used to be. It was a good story, but I just want one that gets me excited like her books used to do.
This type of book keeps me awake at night but it was well written. You have to stay with it. Reasonably good narration. Parts were unnecessary, the love scenes seemed to be just thrown in. Other than that I really like this book.
I almost did not get this book due to another review that said you must like dogs to enjoy the book. Very untrue! I am an avid Nora Roberts/JD Robb fan and have a hard time waiting for her books to be released. As long as you like her other mysteries you will love this one. It helps to like animals but it isn't a deal breaker. Ms. Roberts hit the target again and has not disappointed her fans. Waiting for her next book......
Two things, 1.should of had a man narrate for the male characters and 2. story dragged on not knowing whether to be a mystery or a sappy romance novel.
Mom, cupcake froster at local gourmet shop, and avid listener to books while doing said frosting or housework. True audiobook addict!
This book has a little bit of everything. Romance, murder, suspense, mystery, and lots of sarcasm. The lead male character is very different from the typical character in any romance novel.
Nora did good once again :)
I really enjoyed this book, and found myself smiling listening to to the banter between the characters. I found the dog training parts very interesting, and the romance steamy. The only reason it lacked was the ending felt a bit rushed and unrealistic... the dogs mauling the bad guy would have been better...
I also very much enjoyed the narration and found she did a good job of nailing the characters..
Unlike some of the reviews I enjoyed this book ??? it was light and easy to listen to while driving. It is your typical Nora Robert???s books, reminded me somewhat of her other book the Black Hill. This one deals with Fiona Bristow a dog trainer that also leads a Search and Rescue Team. She has moved to an small island off the coast of Washington to escapes her past with a serial killer. In comes Simon Doyle ??? neither wants a relationship with the other ??? in comes a copy cat serial killer .. book and ending are very predictable. My biggest complaint is with the narrator ??? in the beginning of the book she read very choppy however by the end that seemed to smooth out somewhat.
I loved this book. I read the views and they seemed mixed so I almost didn't even give this book a try. I've read a lot of Nora Roberts books and am a big fan. This book had more than the typical Nora Robert's book. It had lots of action and suspense. I am a dog lover and actually have a golden retriever puppy so I can relate to the dog training parts. I would recommend this book.
I throughly enjoyed this audiobook. The reader was fantastic with the different voices. It was very humorous. It was one of the best books I have listened to in a long time.
