Not your average autobiography. Stephen Fry is a brilliant narrator, easily able to hold your interest. Not only does he give us an insight into a childhood that is distinctly different from most people's but he gives us a deep insight into his own viewpoint of his life, the decisions he made, and events as they unfold.
What a man! Loved every word he spoke! Nothing else to write but there's a minimum words you have to type in.
"Just buy it!"
Seriously, you won't regret it! Gripping narrative and sublime vocal tones. I loved every moment.
"Will listen again"
Fry has an amazing command of the English language, to the extend that I Will probably have to listen again to get a better understanding. His performance as the narrator of his own book just adds to the enjoyment of hearing the language spoken so beautifully. A reflection on his earlier life entering boarding school and getting up to school boy antics is so typical of an all boys school. An amusing and light hearted narrative.
Hugely entertaining, honest appraisal of his first twenty or so years. Many genuine laugh out loud moments as he tells of his upbringing, education and pokes fun at public school and the establishment generally. Will be onto part 2 immediately
"A self help book??"
Stephen does it again with his inimitable style. His younger days read like a self help book and his patter and descriptive elegance enable the reader to delve into their own lives and compare and contrast. Excellent book. Can't wait for another. (Read all three autobiographies but back to front!)
Fantastic as ever! :) a wonderful listen from start to finish! Unable to stop listening to this genius
"Worth every penny."
Very entertaining and enjoyable. Written and read beautifully by Fry. Can't wait for the next one.
"A really frank and honest read."
Stephen Fry recites his story honestly and frankly. Let's you see the real Stephen Fry
"Lovely insight into Stephen Fry"
A wonderful listen, getting to know more about a lovely man. Honest and witty
