I enjoy reading fantasy, science fiction, and horror the most. To improve, I read about language, psychology, spirituality, and art. I read about computer science and business for professional reasons.
Like the first in the series, this book was outstanding. The main characters struggle for survival continues. Each setting, scenario, and event contains enough exciting and new information to keep the plot thrilling. I hope this author writes more, as the style with which the book was written is highly entertaining.
Love to listen to books all the time since I'm disabled & sit around all day. Mostly LUV zombie books ~ anything w blood & guts & guns!
I LOVED the way Jay reads these books! He has a nice deep voice and when he changes it to do a "diff" person I totally feel that I'm hearing someone else. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and I am sure I will find myself listening to this again after I get thru the rest of the books in my library.
This falls short of the first story, which was decent. I think that the narrator was incorrectly cast in both books and sounds like a much older man than the character. He does a OK job but sometimes sounds like he trying too hard to make scenes exciting or tense.
A very good sequel, they kept all of the elements that I liked and kept the story moving.
An interesting look at the world post-zombie takeover. Mr. Bourne paints a very realistic picture of what might happen if our world was over run by the undead. While no longer narrated in the third person, this allows the story to expand and engage in a different manner than the first two books. Some have criticized this change from the first two books, but I found it refreshing and not at all distracting. I sure hope that there is a 4th book in the offing...
I don't give spoilers
How I love the Zombie Apocalypse. This is one of my top 10 series in the genre. If not all but most Zombie books are roughly the same. And many reviews on here will mislead you with words like (brings nothing new to the genre or unoriginal story line) which in turn pisses me off. There books about Zombies!!! If you change much more then Speed of the zombies or how they came about then there not ZOMBIES anymore. Alright that said Book 1&2 are great full marks If your a fellow zombie lover it's a must have. Unfortunately book 3 makes me want to puke, not that it's not alright, it is OK. But next to the first two books it looks like a steaming pile.
Yes, already have and they love it also!
All of it
All of it!
I dug it!
There were plenty of times the author seemed to have gotten bored especially towards the end. Characters got bland and the Muslim character that's introduced fell into a stereotypical caricature. Also the ending was just brutal
if the material was better... Jay snyder is usually pretty good.
Not really.. The first book was great this one was a stinker
Theres better Zombie fiction out there. Anything by Jonathan Maberry is better than this book.
Very surprised to see all the glowing reviews. I loved the first book. Liked the second book alot (not quite as well as the first one.
In Beyond Exile Bourne tries to do too much and ends up with far less. Has too many characters in too many locations that become too confusing trying to keep up with them all. The story jumps around too much without giving you a heads up the road is taking a turn. You are in a flashback before you know it. The climax isn't much of a climax. Leaves way too many unanswered questions.
I was greatly anticipating the release of this book. Maybe reading the book on paper makes all the jumping around easier to follow. Listening to in just left me confused and wanting it to hurry up and be over. : <
I personally prefer audiobooks and Jay Snyder delivers another outstanding performance.
I really enjoyed the charchter development and how the steady growth of emotion through the eyes Killroy
I enjoyed the addition of the character who gives Killroy his nickname. The two play well off of each other and open up a new avenue of friendship.
Even more so than in the first book as the character development only continues to improve and add to a great story
I listened to this one in one sitting and then had to wait months for Shattered Hourglass.
