Peter Hermann is quite possibly the most boring mono-tone narrator I have ever had the displeasure of hearing. The book may be good, but we couldn't stay awake.to complete it. My advise to anyone purchasing audio books is to preview the narrator. And unless you're looking for a nap, stay clear of Peter Hermann. I only wish I could give this less than one star.
I am convinced that listeners are influenced GREATLY by a authors past works when purchasing a book......this author's works are becoming more disappointing as he continues to churn out words......
PRIVATE was/is very disappointing......too fragmented....flight of ideas, jumping from one thread to another...loosely connected......don't waste your time or money !!!!!!
Twists, turns, surprises
I liked that Jack Morgan was not a perfect individual and had to deal with scars from his past
I have not had the pleasure to listen to Peter Hermann before
Having read Private L.A. I wanted to get to know more about the series. So I listened to the first book of the series... Private. I was very pleased in what I heard. Excellently narrated, this book was very polished. I enjoyed the many plots and subplots that were happening simultaneously, Can't wait to read the next ones,
Hard to follow do to similar names. I will avoid this narrator he is unable to distinguish his voice for different characters. I've read (listened to) about 20 JP books and this was probably the worse did not keep my attention.
The characters and narration are good, but the underlying plot leaves you wishing they put more effort into it. Still a worthy listen... a 3.5 really.
James and Maxine have done it again! This is a great read just like most of thier work together. The story itself grabs you from the very beginning and holds on throughout the whole book. The characters are great and you really get invested in the story. The readers do a great job of getting the story right as well. Would reccomend this book to all.
I have read nearly every Patterson book written, this book is so out of character from Patterson I don't believe it is his, It is the worst Patterson book, worst audible book and nearly the worst book period I have finished. The drivel goes on and on and on..I will think twice of getting a book just because it's by James Patterson
