this is a great modern day thriller. much more interpersonal than raw action, but a great mind opener to possibilities that could be reality without engagement! i am a Beck fan anyway, but really liked his fiction work.
I've been a Glenn Beck radio fanboy for 6 years or so. This book just sucked. Plot? Average. WAY too much dialogue. It seemed like conversations lasted for pages and pages. And it doesn't help that the narrator needs to take an acting class. I desperately wanted this book to sing to kill his critics. No such hope. Just more fodder for the MSNBCers.
This was one of the best books I have ever had the pleasure of hearing. Mr. Beck's vision of what is going on in our country today is uncanny. God bless him and I am waiting for his next.
The author starts by warning you, some will not like this book because they disagree with his philosophy. I listened to the whole book and could not make any sense of his views. It was very disjointed and he seemed to run out of time and just end the book. I'm sorry I wasted my time listening to this.
I am a huge fan of Glenn Beck and what follows is an honest appraisal from a fan.
If you follow Glenn's show (radio or TV) on a regular basis then you will immediately understand where he is going in the novel. It is his dark vision of his worst nightmare.
This book is a 'unveiled' look at one possible future for the very real America in which we all currently live ... a future that he and I and countless others are desperate to avoid.
I found the book to be an entertaining, light read. But because I follow Glenn so closely, it was predictable.
Nonetheless, I highly recommend this book as a great beach or traveling companion.
--- Life, Fortune, and Sacred Honor
Spellbinding, thought provoking, and an all-around good read (e.g. a good listen). Should be mandatory reading for any freedom loving patriot. Should be banned to all budget-busting progressives -- but even those folks will enjoy the story: a boy, a girl, and a cold cruel world.
Note the audible READER was excellent.
It's actually a good story! Good pacing and plot, and of course does a good job of illustrating the dynamics of big government power.
The book was a good story, but just like Agenda 21, Glenn Beck and his team have no clue on how to write an ending. Both books just stop in the middle of the best part with no conclusion or tie in with the theme of the overall book
Very bad, just stopped in the middle of the story line
It was a good story but poorly constructed with back and forth one liners between characters
