I am a "Life is Awesome! Strive to be Worthy of it." student of life kind of guy. Feeding on Chaos and Empowering the Good. Group Hug!
Kate is figuring out her powers and her history, glad this book seem to get back towards the underlying goal and builds on Kate's history and family tree.
I read a few reviews that disliked the Narrator, but I think the Narrator is awesome through this whole series.
Renee Raudman hits another home run with her wonderful job narrating this series. The writing comes to life with her voice and every characters personality is fresh and alive as she reads to you. Love the story and love the narration!
This is the third book I have listened to by Ilona Andrews. I rarely review books, but I make an exception for her books. I will be downloading book four in 1 minute
I have read all the Kate Daniels books, and this is by far my favorite. Having read the books already it took a long time to warm to the narrator. Now that I am used to her style I am loving every minute of it! Can't wait to listen to the next book and can't wait for Ilona to write the next one in the series!
I loved the overall story and the way Ilona Andrews manages to bring in romance without detracting from the main plot or going over board with the details.
Kate - Her wit and sarcasm never fails to entertain.
No. There were a lot of times voices sounded the same, and I had a difficult time deciding if it was a new character or not, as well as following conversations that ping pong'd back and forth with no indication of who said what.
I laughed several times, and I may have gotten teary eyed at some parts... maybe.
Overall a good story, though the performance could use a bit of work.
Hello, my name is Teresa and I'm an addict.
Okay after reading four books in this series I am officially hooked. It took me a few books to really sink my teeth into the series. Now I'm in it to the finish. Kate is awesome a kick ass, smart ass who doesn't put up with anybody's crap. Curran and Kate make an explosive couple and I'm glad they finally came together. I love the references to the book Princess Bride. Each book has a disaster that has occurred usually by bad guys and somehow Kate figures out how to get rid of them with a little help from her friends. Not to mention I love her new dog. Narrator shines with this series.
Magic Bleeds has an excellent story that sucks you in, and makes you want to know more about the Kate Daniels universe.
This is the first novel in the series where we get real interaction with Kate's past, and first learn some in-depth history about Roland.
[name of primary antagonist removed due to spoilers] was stellar. Her performance for the standard characters (Kate, Curran, etc.) was great, as always.
Yes, but it's still good in multiple sittings.
The performance would have gotten a 5, except there's one scene near the end of the book where, in a conversation between Kate and [name of primary antagonist removed due to spoilers] where the opposite voices were used. Also, the 1-2 lines of Japanese in the book were slaughtered, with the wrong emphasis in the wrong place. However, these were sections of audio filling up less than 30 seconds of dialog, so it doesn't detract from the overall experience.
Favorite reads are urban fantasies featuring adults, with a firm twist of tasteful erotica, shaken well with plenty of humor & wit over ice.
When the right combination of writer and narrator comes together it elevates an audio book to a wonderful new creation! Like listening to a play, I get captivated by the emotion Renée Raudman puts into her performance, which couldn't carry the impact these books do if Ilona Andrews didn't have the skill and talent for writing such a great story.
I've so enjoyed this series and intend on finishing it; I've grown so attached to the characters. I look forward to following their journeys in the future.
