I loved the overall story and the way Ilona Andrews manages to bring in romance without detracting from the main plot or going over board with the details.
Kate - Her wit and sarcasm never fails to entertain.
No. There were a lot of times voices sounded the same, and I had a difficult time deciding if it was a new character or not, as well as following conversations that ping pong'd back and forth with no indication of who said what.
I laughed several times, and I may have gotten teary eyed at some parts... maybe.
Overall a good story, though the performance could use a bit of work.
Hello, my name is Teresa and I'm an addict.
Okay after reading four books in this series I am officially hooked. It took me a few books to really sink my teeth into the series. Now I'm in it to the finish. Kate is awesome a kick ass, smart ass who doesn't put up with anybody's crap. Curran and Kate make an explosive couple and I'm glad they finally came together. I love the references to the book Princess Bride. Each book has a disaster that has occurred usually by bad guys and somehow Kate figures out how to get rid of them with a little help from her friends. Not to mention I love her new dog. Narrator shines with this series.
Magic Bleeds has an excellent story that sucks you in, and makes you want to know more about the Kate Daniels universe.
This is the first novel in the series where we get real interaction with Kate's past, and first learn some in-depth history about Roland.
[name of primary antagonist removed due to spoilers] was stellar. Her performance for the standard characters (Kate, Curran, etc.) was great, as always.
Yes, but it's still good in multiple sittings.
The performance would have gotten a 5, except there's one scene near the end of the book where, in a conversation between Kate and [name of primary antagonist removed due to spoilers] where the opposite voices were used. Also, the 1-2 lines of Japanese in the book were slaughtered, with the wrong emphasis in the wrong place. However, these were sections of audio filling up less than 30 seconds of dialog, so it doesn't detract from the overall experience.
Kate meets a family member she was unaware of, and discovers more about her and her families blood.
Shows a bit of her "maternal-side" helping her adopted daughter at school, in a rather unconventional "Kate Daniels" way!
And she and Curren (actually talk) about parts of their childhoods...with each other.
I have enjoyed all the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews; this is my favorite "episode" (so far)!
Favorite reads are urban fantasies featuring adults, with a firm twist of tasteful erotica, shaken well with plenty of humor & wit over ice.
When the right combination of writer and narrator comes together it elevates an audio book to a wonderful new creation! Like listening to a play, I get captivated by the emotion Renée Raudman puts into her performance, which couldn't carry the impact these books do if Ilona Andrews didn't have the skill and talent for writing such a great story.
I've so enjoyed this series and intend on finishing it; I've grown so attached to the characters. I look forward to following their journeys in the future.
I have a real crazy in love relationship with books!!!
I don't know since I have never read the print but I would argue I would listen to Renee any day.
Always, always, always Kate and Curran! They are both tough, highly intelligent, sensitive, complicated, and loving.....What more can you ask for?
Renee is a freaking genius! I wish she could narrate every book I have ever head/read. She has totally ruined me from most other narrators because she is phenomenal! Dang it Renee...even the narrators I used to love, I have abandoned for you! SMH!
Absolutely! Why do I even need to go to work or feed my kids? I mean that type of stuff is overrated anyway right? LOL. Yeah I was sad when work rolled around.
Welp I obviously love the book. I am truly encouraging you to not cheat yourself from this book of luxury. This is the type of book that puts a smile on your face and make you wish for mint julep while rocking on the front porch. Bottom line...buy it!
must read: darynda jones, Karen moning, Ilona Andrews, kim harrison, gena showalter, Karen chance, patricia briggs, jeaniene frost ,L taylor,
i would recommend this book and the series, you need to start with book one. it is action, mystery/suspense, drama, romance (hot), and FUN!
This is the best in the series, i think every book has been better and better. i love the action and Renee Raudman does a great job with the narration. She is excellent with the delivery of sarcasm. i love a good edgy, witty sarcastic strong female lead! This book has great sexual tension too. Things get kinda hot in this one!
Another Terrific Edition
Kate Daniels-her no nonsesne attitude, her dry humor and loyalty to her friends and allies
her dialogue skills bring life to the characters. Kuran is garvely, Andrea and Dolly are light and humourous!
Kate readingh to Kuran in an attenmpt to get him to wake up!
I just can not say enough good things about this series. It never fails to entertain and always leaves you wanting more.
Ms. Raudman is superb! She is Kate!...no other reader could do this series justice!
Wanted to but could not. Real life first... entertainment as we can squeeze it in.
The KATE DANIELS SERIES is fun, restful and interesting. One I listened to more than once. Love, romance, adventure with folks I enjoyed being with. Was it worth the money and time?? OH YES. For all ages.
