In this book of the Kate Daniels series, we learn a great deal more about Kate's family connections. Also, her relationship with Curran grows & becomes more defined. Along with reading the book, I enjoyed listening to the audio of this and the previous books. Ms. Raudman voice is very pleasant as she narrates the series. My only criticism is with her pronunciation of a certain street in Atlanta & the plant that at the South. See, I live in Atlanta, and although she pronounces the street Ponce De Leon correctly for the rest of world, it's not how it's said in Atlanta. Other than that, she does a fine job.
the world building has some interesting points. the story telling isn't innovative, but I'm still binging my way through the series. urban fantasy canon
All the books in the Kate Daniels series are well-written and love the voice for the audio books. This series has become one of my favorite audio books. I have listened to this book and others in the series several times and can't wait for more books.♡ ♡
This is, so far, my favorite book in the series. The plot is great, the action intense, and of course, the character dynamics are off the charts.

Longest. Ending. Ever. As always the voice acting is flawless. I was scared at the creepy parts, and was worried the actress was actually crying at the sad parts. But I hate endings that make you wait an absurd amount of time for a resolution. It was good as those endings go though. Obviously, my preference doesn't change the quality of the book. But I'm pisses off and strung out and I'm subtracting a star because of it.
... the action scenes are exciting and the entire story is compelling! I loved the first three books and also this one although with some reservation. Two things that bothers me: one - when they laid the cards on the table, so Curren has not said why and what exactly made him fell in love with Kate (I expected more here after that amazing build up in their relationship), two - actual sex scenes - like what!? That's it!?
Renée Raudman did amazing job and made great story line come alive. One thing though, sometimes was difficult to distinguish when Kate thinks and when she talks to people. I had to rewind it back and try it to figure out from context.
Most series get old after a few books but this series just keeps giving and I can't wait to read another. The storyline stays fresh and the characters keep developing.

Kate is figuring out her powers and her history, glad this book seem to get back towards the underlying goal and builds on Kate's history and family tree.
I read a few reviews that disliked the Narrator, but I think the Narrator is awesome through this whole series.
Renee Raudman hits another home run with her wonderful job narrating this series. The writing comes to life with her voice and every characters personality is fresh and alive as she reads to you. Love the story and love the narration!
