I think what these amazing authors has to say is really important, but the production quality and performance detract so badly for me that I can't stand to listen to the audio book. There is a loud buzzing constantly throughout the narration. It only stops when there is a break between narration. Please Deepak, Marrianne and Debbie re-record this professionally so that we can consume this great content.
This book changed the way I see the world. My feelings toward myself and others have shifted drastically. I have been able to move from a place of hurt to a place of acceptance and happiness. I would recommend this to everyone who is on a journey of self growth.
I would prefer to read the book over listening to this performance twice. The content was very interesting and worth the single listen, but I WILL NOT listen twice.
I really enjoy the work of Deepak Chopra, but I find his narration very distracting. I was further distracted from the other authors who presented their own chapters.
I recognize and appreciate that some listeners find comfort and sincerity in hearing the authors words spoken by the authors themselves, as if they were attending a seminar with the author. I am not one of those people. After listening to well over 75 audio books I have become accustomed to professional narrators. With professional narrators I am able to relax and take in the content. When hearing professional authors perform like amateurs I become distracted and spend more time trying to become adjusted to their voice and pace.
To help quantify my personal bias, I would much prefer to listen to a musical album that was done in the studio than listen to a concert performance of the same album.
In the future, I will not purchase any audio books that are narrated by their authors. I will save those for print format.
This is a very simple audio, Debbie Ford is the most significant speaker. Deepak Chopra just keeps rehashing the same information in different audiobooks for what appears to be financial gain. Less spiritual and organic in my view.
confront your fears
This book helps in recognizing our fears and helps in taking control of them. It is worthwile to read several times, every time is different.
It made me go back to my childhood.
The problem with this book is that Debbie Ford's voice was impossible to tolerate
The information was, for the most part, helpful. But suddenly you would be subjected to drivel
This would have been a good book to scan and hop around in, not a steady read.
This book may appeal to someone who has never learned about the ego, pain body or Jungian studies.
No. Deepak Chopra and Marianne Williamson are amazing teachers and authors.
The static while Deepak Chopra spoke and Debbie Ford would speak without sounding like she's reading.
Yes I have, and its all gone further, -better.
It made me laugh, and cry, and it overwhelmed me...
enjoyable and exciting.
i have not heard a book quite like this one before.
that we all have a dark side in hiding.
i really enjoyed this book very much. it opened my eyes to things that i would have not noticed before this book.
I loved it!
I really found Deepac Chopra fascinating and have since listened to more of his books. Debbie Ford offered some really valuable insights also. Although I know that Marianne Williamson is very popular - for me she was the least interesting but I am not a Christian so it doesn't resonate with me.
