People who enjoy put down humor and sarcasm that cuts to the bone of another.
Anything by James Herriott
The narrator wasn't the problem, the content was.
Don't care enough to give it much thought.
Maybe in another time in my life this would have been funny.......mmmmm....no, maybe not.
This book was funny as heck. Great entertainment. Not for those who can't handle the colorful language though.
This book will definitely make you laugh!!
50+ year old female geek
I have watched the TV show a couple of times and thought it was amusing - but not enough to go out of my way to see. The book, however, was hysterical - and touching.
I guess the constant use of profanity is a part of the allure of what his Dad says, It would have been funny without having to quote him exactly with all his expletives.
There were several vignettes/stories that were really funny ... They are short and pithty so a single one doesn't really stand out.
It was "good" and an "easy listen" ... I just found the language to be a little tedious after awhile. "Dad" learned to communicate somewhere in the navy ... He could sure talk like a sailor!
I would listen or read this book again. Hilarious and very entertaining!!! You can actually put yourself there while he is looking back on the stories. Loved it!!!!
I was laughing my booty off :) loved it!!!
Also loved his other title 'I suck at girls' it's a must listen!!!!!
This made me laugh until I was crying
I did and I have listened to it over and over again.
His dad is honest in his every day comments and clearly tries to give his sons good advice but it's the words and the combinations of words that he chooses to get his point across that are so hillarious! He definately has a dirty mouth but you get past that and he's still funny. I laughed out loud more than once for sure!
Everyone knows someone like this; the guy with a no-holds-barred attitude towards rearing children. I've even met a few well educated people with as foul or fouler mouths than that of the author's father. It's the little tidbits of wisdom that come through hysterically. You think to yourself,"Exactly! I couldn't have put it better myself, " several times.
My two complaints are that the father's voice sounds like it comes from Brooklyn instead of the Midwest and that it was so short.
I Luv Audible!!
Justin dad has some very interesting interpretation of issues. Reminds me of my dad. Good listen and the narrator was good
