You really need to have listened to the first two books, to know and care what is happening in this 3rd novel. The author developed the characters so well that after listening to the first two books I could not wait to listen to this story. I did find the fact that there were so many characters in the story with similar sounding names a bit confusing. Thank goodness for the great narration from Simon Vance!!
I have just relistened to the whole of this download for the 2nd time - now thats what I call credit worthy. Start at book one and listen to all three, this is a glorious ending to the trilogy - you won't be dissappointed.
this story had quite a few unrelated issues and a lot of characters to keep track of. unless one reads all three back to back, it can be difficult to keep track of. i score it a three because there is a lot of imagination and also the translation
Well written and a wonderful reading of the third in this fantastic and original series by Stieg Larsson. Audible offers the selection at a terrific price, too.
any thing written by this person is awsome....some of the books take a little time to get into it....but just keep reading...i love them all and wish i could read some more of his books...but alas he has died awsome books just awsome
I was new to Larsson's "The Girl" series when I bought and listened to this, the third installment. I liked it very much so I then listened to the one that came before and eventually I will hear the first one. It turns out that had I taken the time to check I would have found that the books make up a trilogy and thus each book builds towards the next and should be taken in order. Listen or read tattoo first and then fire and last hornet's nest and you will enjoy the series, at least in my opinion, much more. The books are well written with interesting storylines and the narration is great. There is a good amount of explanation of certain aspects of politics and historical events but not being Swedish I had no clue and found the information educational and providing a framework for the storylines.
Read all three books in the Millennium Trilogy. Watched the two movies that have been released in the States so far (also great, but read the books first) and am eagerly awaiting this last one. I'm addicted. So I googled him only to find out that he passed away - didn't even get to find out how popular his books became...I feel so sad for him and hope that at least his family and friends find some solace in that knowledge.
Start at the beginning of this trilogy and listen to all 3 books.. I wasn't sure at first about a book that had to be translated --- but it was fantastic. So sorry to not have any more to look forward to... Larsson's tale kept me involved - trying to figure out what would happen next ...... Loved Vance's Narration.
While I enjoyed this book for the most part, I don't think it compares to the first two in the series. It is much like a drawn-out conclusion, and didn't do much to keep me interested. I listened to this book over about two weeks, while the first two were both finished in a week (I listen to books while I'm at work).
I certainly don't regret purchasing the final chapter, it was a decent listen, and closed up the series satisfactorily.
Great following the continuing lives of the main characters. I feel as though I've stayed with them forever and find the author's consistency incredible. A fun book that kept me with it the entire way. Hopefully, there will be another in the series.
