High energy, intense plot, great story. I was spellbound by this book. The story is cleverly crafted; as the story unfolds, you see how the pieces fit together - but still the end is amazing. There are points in the dialogue that are stunning - I listened again and again. Larsson is brilliant - making it all the more sad in his loss. He was an incredible writer.
From beginning to end, spellbinding, intriguing, and incredibly well performed. Love it! Could read it over & over again!
I must say I loved the first book better and this third book of the series the least. But what can I say? Stieg Larsson is a genius! I haven't read such a good book since Clan of the Cave Bear???? (or course, they are no comparisons!) I am sad to finish this book because I know it is the last of the series.
I love the way he just draws you into his world.
Stieg Larsson jumps right in where he left off from book 2. He hits the ground running, well maybe a fast walk. The detail and history that is given once again may make you impatient for him to get on with the current dealings of the main charachter, but the details are what make this book so awesome! Really emotional and the ending... Man, I did not expect that!
This book was excellent, and well deserving of it's reputation and success. I felt quite idiotic when I learned, well after the fact, that it was indeed the third book of the series. The narration was seamless, the storyline had depth, and the characters were 3 dimensional.
I've seldom been so sad to reach the end of a series, especially since the world knows there will be no more of these sometimes gruesome, always interesting tales of Swedish lives. Who knew a male author could be such a strong feminist? I wonder what he encountered in his life as a journalist that made him such an admirer of truly strong women. Remarkable. Suspenseful, enjoyable, the kind of read that makes it impossible to stop. I found myself getting in the car to ride just so I could continue to listen. Brilliant. So sad it's over.
I enjoyed all the "Girl" books, but I found the last one the most suspenseful and satisfying, wrapping up the characters nicely.
I was slow to get used to all the Swedish names and places, which made the book difficult for me to get into at first, but I kept at it. After a while I got used to it, and the book took off for me. Great story. I also didn't realize I was starting in the middle of a series - it might have helped if I had read them in order. That being said, I can't wait to read the others.
