This book is absolutely hilarious. It's a light and easy listen. I was 5 months pregnant when I read this and it was so refreshing to read and relate to such an humorous and honest depiction of what us ladies have to go though.
This book is a great way to commiserate if you are pregnant. It helped me laugh at some of the things that are happening to me and told me about some of the things that might (it's my first pregnancy).
The narrator did a good job of reflecting Jenny's crass humor.
I think it would have been better if Jenny recorded it herself...the narrator was like an old woman so it didn't make a lot of sense. The story was stupid and predictable...I found it annoying and would not recommend it.
Record it herself.
Jenny was cute and funny and you are able to relate to things she says and laugh. She lets you not feel guilty or weird about what you are feeling which was nice but I don't think she always takes the healthiest approach so I wouldn't follow all of her advice but she did make me laugh. A cute quick listen for the expecting.
A shred of positivity would have been welcomed. It was 3.5 hours of Jenny complaining about how horrible being pregnant was.
I will definitley be more selective in choosing books on pregnancy.
All of them.
I really wanted this to be funnier, but it was just okay. The stories were, as advertised, a little gross, and not always funny enough to make up for the grossness. It would be worlds better if it had been read my Ms. McCarthy. If you are pregnant and just want to hear someone else talk about the less pleasant aspects of expecting, give it a try. Otherwise, pass.
Jenny really opens the door for honesty about pregnancy... as a second-timer it's much appreciated honesty. My two pregnancies have been completely different and her light-hearted way of talking about it really helped me deal with the craziness!!!
