Listened to it for the second time and was captured even more than before. The performance bring to life the creativity and brilliance of Rick Riordan
This was a really good interpretation and history lesson on Egypt. I enjoyed the readers and the story. It has enticed me to learn more about ancient Egyptian and the gods they worshiped.
I love Fiction. Magic, Dragons, Wizards, and Spies!
I really enjoyed the performance of this book. Very easy listen. With the story, I felt every part I was wanting more. Needing more for it to be great!
I would recommend this book. It was action packed,, fast paced, and a lot of fun.
Like the two performers. The story line was fun and fast paced. Easy listen.
Funny, great pace and easy on the ears!
The beginning of a great adventure!
Variety in voice and inflection bring the characters to life. The whole family 11, 13, and "older" enjoyed it!
Rick Riordan is a great author, his stories are wonderful. The only thing I dislike about this story is that Sadie is only 12, she acts much more like an older girl. I also love that I know so much more about Egypts gods and how the Egyptians believed they existed. The thing that really makes this book stand out though is the performances. I love that they have 2 narrators a male and female. The performers are wonderful and make it easy to listen to the book. Compared to the Heros of Olympus these narrators are so much better.
I had to stop listening because the narrators are terrible... I love the story, but not the audio book.
Maybe, but probably not.
Without a doubt. I've struggled to get my son to read each night, and this has created quite a wonderful bartering tool. A little "regular" reading, and then we get to listen to the Kane Chronicles. I think he's listened to the entire set at least 3 times now, and keeps asking if another will be coming out.
I love both of the Kane kids, their humor is my cup of tea, but all of the supporting characters added so much.
They nailed it, what more can I say? Katherine gets a little loud at times, but they are supposed to be in the midst of chaos, so I suppose that is to be expected.
You simply can't go wrong with a Rick Riordan book.
I have read the Percy Jackson books and enjoyed them. This book was not as good as his other series and tended to get caught up explaining too many details.
This was one of the worst performances I have encountered with audible. I listen to audio during my drive to work and there were several times I almost returned the audio and grabbed a copy of the book from my kids to finish the story. I played some of the audio to my kids who are big Riordan fans and they could not believe how bad it was.
the story was fine, and would not cut any characters.
The story is worth reading, however it is difficult to finish due to the really bad performance of the narrators.
