Davenport & Co. are reliable old friends. Sandford keeps them true to their nature while allowing them room to grow.
True to form, Sandford offers an interesting batch of miscreants.
Yes. I'm always comfortable with Ferrone's narration.
I think it's time for Davenport to get some new outside interest to enrich these stories. Life is settling in a bit too predictably for these colorful characters. I appreciate that the "yeh yeh" comments were trimmed down. Solid story but if it were the first "prey" story I had read, I would have not looked for anymore in the series.
This is my second favorite prey book (second to Mortal Prey). The plot is well developed and the reader Richard Ferrone, is at his best again. It came together nicely at the end. Definitely recommended!
I'm usually pretty good at blocking out annoying narrators but this was too much. I had to fast forward the sections with accents. The story was not interesting enough to hold me and at times ridiculous. At two-thirds the way through I couldn't take it anymore and skipped to the end to hear the outcome.
predictable story with a ridiculous distraction of separating conjoined twins in an operating room setting.
I am an entertainer...so I spend a lot of time on the road. I take my audio seriously. I appreciate great writing and outstanding narration.
I am a big fan of Sandford's Prey novels. And I like the characters he's brought back. But this is the first of his books I really needed to work to get through.
An otherwise cracking good plot turns into a plodder with ENDLESS descriptions of a surgery Weather must perform. I mean it just goes on and on and on and had it NOT been Sandford, I would have turfed the book midway through.
Once he gets going, the book rocks...but I think he either ignored advice from his editor...or needs to consider hiring a new one.
I am very displeased with this narrator. He speaks much too fast and a lot of the text becomes unclear. I have had to back up and start again too many times. I will not purchase another book narrated by him.
