I've enjoyed the series, and the ending is well crafted.
The narrator has exceptional talent with a diverse set of voices, accents, and characterizations. The consistency of the portrayal of characters helped keep the story "alive" for me even though I took more than a year to listen to the entire series.
I would highly recommend the Lost Fleet books to anyone who enjoys space battles. However, I find it weird that the book covers depict the protagonist off ship in battle gear. Perhaps they are portrayals of the legendary hero?
I like the story telling and the narrator, I wanted to be Captain of a starship. This is great. Good

I found the Lost Fleet series extremely enjoyable. This final book of the series was the perfect ending and start to the next round of books following Black Jack's adventures. Jack Campbell did an beautiful job of building his characters and the struggles they faced not only by war, but also to live up to their own personal view of honor. Very well done.

After traveling through Syndic space, the war, the cost in life and ships, this conclusion gives satisfaction. All the trials of living every day just to fight the battles, many with overwhelming odds, comes to an end. The pace and dialog are witty albeit a little predictable. The problems Geary has to face are fun to watch and the tensions with Desjani and Rione keep it interesting. I laughed uproariously on more than a few occasions. Can't wait for more. The only complaint is that Christian Rummel took a slightly different voice rendition for the characters. I liked the renditions of the earlier volumes but it was still good.
For those born in this century, that means we could see this coming from lightyears away. The Admiral earned it and so did the Captain. I'm ready for it to all start again.
I started listening to the Lost Fleet series for about a month now, and I can't get enough of it. The series are well written and the speaker does a fine job of it.
I love how attention paid to details, though jack's style is consistent which makes his stories somewhat predictable,
Good action and the universe the book is set in has expanded. But i still think the characters are dubious in particular i find the relationship between the main character and the captain of the flag ship to be cringe worthy.
So good action sequences and a better universe now that it has expanded some beyond just the fleet. But i still find the characters in the book either to poorly write.
