Reading all of the positive feedback, I was compelled to use a credit on an author with whom I am not familiar. Oh how I WISH I had made better use of that credit! The storyline was COMPLETELY unbelievable, yet totally predictable, and the characters one dimensional. I think what really ruined it for me, though, was the narrator's interpretation of the voices of the characters. Especially Carlos, whom she made sound like a caricature from a really bad 70's blaxploitation movie. The "sista gurl" vibe she tried to give Monica's best friend fell completely flat.
I wouldn't waste the credit.

I enjoyed listening to Diary of a Mistress. When you are able to believe in someone, no matter what happens to you nothing will shake your beliefs. It may be a hard road ahead of you but you can make it. I found Monica, Carlos and Angela some real live characters in the amazing story. The story left me saying Wow!
This is my first book by this author. She provides a great storyline, great character development on the women in the book, and she allows readers to experience the diary from many perspectives. I was caught up in the great storyline that I could not put it down. I would highly recommend this book!
I really enjoyed this book. I listened to books so much that I can pretty much tell how it is going to end. I really did not see this ending at all.. This book just goes to show you that you should not believe everything that you read and see....
This was actually a really good book. I felt it was too short though. The twists and turns in this book was well done, although the Narrator could have done a better job at showing emotion. It was none-the-less a really good book.
I thought the narrator was great and the story was great. It was great all the way through. And it didn't have a very noticeable ending. I certainly was thrown off. I enjoyed this book at work. One of the many I wish I would have actually read. I've listeneed twice already.
