Yes, as long as Anne Flosnik wasn't reading it.
How long can a person drag out the last letterr of the last word in a sentence? According to Anne, foreverrrrr and in a octave lower than the rest of the sentence. Had to keep rewinding to concentrate on the story because of the way she pronounced the words. Just plain irritating,.Herrrrrrrr owwwwwn wayyyyy ughhhhhh!!!!!
No, got three hours in and couldn't take the narrator anymore.
I don't usually write bad reviews, ( If you can't say something nice.) but I can usually make it to the end of a book too.
he is so ordered and she is so opposite and full of fire.
the conversations between them
Anne Flosnik brings life to Jeffrey and Elizabeth.
Love audio books. Hate bad narrators.
I really enjoyed the story. Lots of funny moments when the heroin constantly getting into trouble.
Anyone but her.
Once again a good book almost ruined by a bad narrator. Also, I found it very difficult to "like" the hero. He was always so mean. There was too much shaking of the heroin which really bothered me. I was afraid the poor woman was going to get "shaken lady syndrome".
If the main female character had been a stronger person and not so wishy/washy. If the sex left a little more to the imagination
It seemed rushed, like she just wanted the story done with. Anticlimactic.
I have not. She did a good job her voice is pleasant.
it was disappointing. Usually Ms Garwood does much better. Ransom is what made me give romance novels another try.
I really like Julie Garwood, this just wasn't her best effort. Usually her main characters are pretty fearless after coming from tragedy. I will purchase her books again. Every one can't get knocked out of the park every time.
Yes I have listened to many of her books all very gentile and good
Wrapped up well no follow up needed
"I wear a fez now, fez's are cool"
No, the narrator does a pretty poor job. She has the potential to be great but she over does voices, very gravely or draws out a sentence by over pronouncing words. When she is just reading without much inflection her voice she is not half bad, it is almost easy to listen too, but for the most part she is annoying and very grating.
Less inflection, less reading the male character like an old man and less over extending words.
Romance's don't generally make good movies.
The story is entertaining. I have been reading Julie Garwood books till she starting writing mysteries and loved them. She has a great sense of humor and can make some fun heroines.
This book has all the elements that make up a good Historical Romance story, although the sexual and arguing scenes were a little over the top for me.
I thought Ann Flosnik did an excellent job. In my opinion she's a good actress and I can't understand anyone giving her negative reviews. Her ability to change her voice, accurately portraying the different characters each time they speak, is truly a gift. It's very hard for a women to sound like one man, much less several different men...and women. A narrator can make or break a story, and Ann Fosnik's performance makes this story.
Audio Book Gal
I am new to Julie Garwood books and I am so glad I started with Gentle Warrior. It is a warm love story with an engaging story line. I plan to listen to it over and over again several times a year. I will also look into more of her stories.
I truely enjoyed the story. The book kept you guessing as to what the outcome might be.
The Bride - as I feel why they are similar they are also totally different in the story line.
I just truely enjoy Anne Flosnik in all audio books that I've come across
yes, but didn't have time!
I just enjoy all of Julie Garwood's writings.
ONLY if you drop the performer reading...
I actually loved the story however could not get involved because of the performance...
There is adding drama to reading which is effective then.... the other side...the dark side of OVER DOING IT WHICH DISTRACTS FROM THE STORY...
Sure... JUST GET RID OF AND OR COACH THE PERFORMANCE OF THE READ
