I am an avid listener. I listen between 75-100 hours per month on my iPhone: 60% fiction to 40% non-fiction.
The character development was unorganized and formulaic. The challenges posed by the author were unsubstantiated and not believable. A major part of the conflict was not resolved in the book but handled like a footnote in the epilog..
The setting being Antartica was a good idea.
I really can't tell if I became an author's fan or the narrator's.
Great on the emphasis and different accents that keep your attention till the end.
Wonderfull story to think about
Keep up the great job both of you.
Really enjoyable story. A little out there at times but held my attention and kept me looking forward my next opportunity to listen.
Just another peice of enviornmentalist propoganda. Strait out of the green peace handbook, the evil corporation trys to destroy the world just to make a buck. The premis is far fetched and the author needs to do a little bit better research for her next book, which for the record, I will not be reading. If you liked the book "State of Fear" you will not like this read (even though the author seems to have read it and used some of its plot ideas for this book)
This was a really good story. It started a little slow but once it got rolling, I could not put it down. If this is the author's first book, I can't wait for the second.
I enjoyed this very much. I think ms Dionne has a bright future. I agree with Douglas Preston and am looking forward to more from her. The concept was an excellent idea. Parts were very frightening, or at least gave me the creeps. It is a page turner and I found it difficult to put down. Overall, I highly recommend it and am looking forward to her maturing as a writer.
In many ways it was very original and the writers hard work was tangible. Yet it started clumsily with cliched dialogue and overly drawn out action scenes. Good fun though for the other 80% of the book with riveting adventures and neat structure.
Very disappointed in what sounded like a sci-fi-related thriller. It seemed a trumped-up premise and unlikeable characters, and the "scary" part--please, without revealing anything in case you think you'll like this book, the "scary" part is ridiculous. Get something else with your book credit. I usually can't wait to get back in my car to hear more--this one didn't excite me at all. I just finished it to find out how it ended. It wasn't worth it.
