I liked the modern day take at the vampire genre - i.e. being able to buy fake blood at Walmart!
The enigmatic and mysterious Gabriel Nightingale
I have all 4 of the audiobooks in this series, I think this was the best though.
I love the Stephanie Plum books and this one had the same bazaar sense of humor. I| found myself laughing out loud constantly.
I love God, my family and my country!
I thought this book was funny. Good clean book that made me laugh out loud at times. The narrator was great. I could visualize each character. Kept me interested to the end!
I thought that this was a great take on "vampires". The author has a wonderful sense of humor that I really connected with, kinda like my own. The narrator however, didn't have a very good range in the differant voices though.
I found the voice of the narrator pretty annoying...especially when she did voices. The story was okay- but I'd probably read the book vs. listening.
It was entertaining- but a read would have been better
The story was rather weak. I would consider it an okay read. It would not encourage me to get the next one in the series.
Yes I would. I am on the 3rd book of Jane Jamesons tales and am finding the humor
aspect far more appealing. I would like to listen to the 1st one again to see if I am
totally in sync with the humor as with the 3rd book. I cut my vampire teeth on
Sookie Stackhouse and love Charlaine Harris's humor - which is slightly different
than Molly Harpers. While I found the 1st book entertaining there were no laugh out
loud episodes. Now I am totally engrossed in the characters and can concede
there are vampires and there are other vampires. I can enjoy them all.
Jane is a flip kind of girl and true to her "self". I LOVE a good character. They have so
much more going for them than the "bad boy" type and her take on things is refreshing.
Her world brings out so many every day challenges and she excels at being her new
self and handling the situation - (with that flip attitude). Good and humorous triumphs
Amanda is totally Jane. She allows you to get engrossed and enjoy Jane and the
others as you would any group you would meet here in the real world. She is totally
believable as the main character and all of the others with excellent execution of
the line delivery.
Au contraire - the fangs come with the nice girl in this one.
I would not have reviewed this book had I not listened to the next 2. I like characters who grow on me.
I liked the modern take on vamperism, the characters were funny, witty and "human".
I would compare the book to the Sookie Stackhouse books because of the modern take on dating vampires & living in the human world.
I like the scene between the heroine Jane & her lover Gabriel when they first decided to become sexual. It was weird, interesting & hot.
I would use Sassy Kickin Undead!!!
Yes - it was funny, likeable characters, and well read.
Jane's first fight with Gabriel
The whole thing was funny.
I laughed out loud several times - I could easily relate to the characters, and the humiliating and funny mishaps and Jane's hysterical comments.
I love to listen to audiobooks. It is great when the narrators get into the story and really bring the characters to life.
If you like Sookie, you'll love Jane! This is a very fun and entertaining listen. I loved it. The narrator does a wonderful job!
