I LOVE This Series, this is Zarek's Story and as sad as his life is, it was just that much fascinating he has never been shown kindness by anyone other than his half brother which always caused him to be whipped. So he doesn't what kindness because its known to cause him pain. He was unfairly accused of a crime he did not commit by a women who he tried to protect. Then he also finds out he once again is accused of a crime of he did not commit as a dark hunter and must find a way to prove his innocence. In this series where else can you find Weremen, yes I said Weremen because they are wolves that can transform into MEN!. and werebears, demons, vampires and Greek gods all in one series!! I love the fact no matter how much Zarek tries not to be drawn in by kindness he finally can not deny the woman who offers it so freely and without cause, she gives him the most precious gift of all herself because she is a virgin demi god and he is or was in his human life a slave.
A reviewer at Guilty Indulgence Review Site. I don't go anywhere without a book -ebook or audiobook- and I always have an opinion to share.
Kenyon's Dark Hunter world is growing bigger (and hotter) with each book. If you like paranormal romance, this is a must read. And on audio, they are even more sexy with the character's accents done with professional narration. Readers are swept into this fantastical world. *Important to read this series in order.*
I wasn't as impressed with Kenyon's first two books, Night Pleasures and Night Embrace. The narrator had a horrible, vapid Southern accent and I was annoyed with the couples in those books because of it.
However, Dance with the Devil was the turning point, since they switched to a male narrator and his performance was FAR more subdued and subtle. His performance brought the characters to life instead of taking away from them.
Plus, I love the anti-heroes and new characters being introduced. Kyrian and Julian just seem like one-dimensional godly hunks. Talon seemed more thought-out. But Zarek and Acheron are a delight because I prefer the darker side of a hero. Makes their looks seem more like an afterthought and who they are more essential and complicated. Gives them depth that makes the first two books seem far more shallow in comparison.
Each book shows adds more and more depth to Acheron that I'm skipping the rest to read Acheron, then coming back to resume the series. I know that will be my next favorite and I hate waiting when Kenyon wrote 20+ books in the series.
This was the first DH audio recording that I purchased. I can't tell you how many times I've listened to it. I enjoyed reading the book, but listening to it made Zarek my favorite DH. This recording is part of the reason that I started paying attention to the names of narrators.
Very good book, at first I was kind of questioning the plot. But then I fell in love with it. You got to see the turmoil and the character turmoil through Zereks eyes. Made you feel for him and understand why he is the way he was. Ty for this awesome book!
Dance with the devil -this book was terrible. I'm surprised so many people liked it. Long drawn out angst, get to the point. Pass on this book.
Paranormal-urban fantasy book lover!
I loved learning Zarek's back story and at the end learning the "surprise" we find out is just mind boggling. This is my favorite of the books so far! I never really liked Zarek but after reading this you can't help but feel for the guy.
We also learn about Acheron and Artemis in this book, a little about their story and my favorite character of all time is introduced... The Simi!!!
First I have to say tho, what Zarek did to Mike in the beginning of the book pissed me off. He is there to protect Zarek and he just went and did him wrong. Uncool man! Yes I know it's a book.
Definitely worth a credit!!
Full Time Business Manager and mom to 5 boys and 1 girl, in every spare minute I have I'm reading or listening. I LOVE AUDIBLE
I actually laughed out loud at some of the scenarios in this book!! Especially with Astrid and her "wolf" in the cabin with the green sweater. I laughed so hard. I often laugh at books in my head but on numerous occasions I laughed out right. The whole book was worth listening to those passages. Good story. Another great dark hunters novel. Nuff said. Get it.
